Mar 20, 2009 Bottle. Nose-unblended gauze, light horse, light dog, very raw in that good horsey wet dog kind of way. Taste-cantaloupe, horse blanket, some farmhouse like must, hay, a little bit of berry (almost cherry), Very “earthy” and simple, but layered. I like.

Mar 19, 2009 2009 sinner bottle. Poured a dark hazy brown with almost no head. Sweet and tart aroma with a slight wood noise. Taste similar with a very nice cherry tartness. Great beer.

Mar 19, 2009 Updated: Mar 20, 20092007 bottle thanks to fordest. Murky brown pour with no head. Sweet, tart nose with wood and cherries. Very nice on the palate with a great cherry sweet and tart flavor.

Mar 16, 2009 Bottle from the Otown throwdown. Chunky brown color. Aroma is tart as hell, with cherries, wood, and earth. Sour and vinegary as hell. Some cherries and funk. Damn tihs made my mouth pucker.

Mar 16, 2009 FRO Throwdown: Brown and cloudy with floaties. Nice funk, sour with cherries. Big cherry pie sweetness and a long rounded sweet capstone.

Mar 16, 2009 Bottle @ Monk’s Cafe: Had this during the Brett Pack Dinner during PBW. According to Tomme, this beer is aged in various oak barrels and then blended together. This one poured like a wine, not much carbonation. The color was a deep red. The aroma was cherry, oak. and vanilla. The flavor was FAN-tastic. Very sour cherry balanced by the oak and vanilla. Not an overly sweet aftertaste either. Very smooth. Definitely my favorite beer of the night. Almost wine like. I could see this being the way of the future, instead of wine, I’ll have a Red Poppy please.

Pours hazy brown.
Aroma of sour cherry and hints of oak. Overall the sourness just covers the aroma.
Taste had a lot of sourness going on with the cherries not being too upfront.
Nice effort on this sour.

Mar 15, 2009 Sampled at C&P Otown Throwdown, big thanks to Dark Guardian! Pours a cloudy reddish brown. Sour cherry vinegar, tart and tangy aroma. Taste is tart cherry, oak, white vinegar. Very sour, complex and interesting.
