Aroma of tart cherries, wood, earth, slight earthy sounress with a touch of yeast. Flavor was not extremely sour and managed to keep a nice balance with the fruit. Alot of cherry flavor, but I do not remember it being that much stronger than original. Very nice sour beer. Earlier Rating: 6/14/2008 Total Score: 3.3 Bottle; poured a muddy, reddish brown with not much head. Some yeast floaties. Aroma of tart cherries and funky earth. Flavor of sour cherries, wood and earth. Didn’t find this as sour as many others, but I didn’t find the flavor all that great. Maybe I still don’t get this style. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 18/20 | Jan 17, 2009 Pours attractive black cherry color with no head. The nose is full with, of course, cherries, and oak. The flavor is just as full with tart yet sweet cherries and oak. Lively acidic mouthfeel and a finish that lasts about 20 seconds. Earlier Rating: 5/15/2008 Total Score: 4.1 Bottle courtesy Aspidites. Caramel brown pour complex sour nose with the cherry and oak. Seemlessly flowing from nose to flavor, the tartness of the cherries and the dryness of the oak blend together wonderfully with a hint of nuttiness. fidel (976), Livermore, California, USA

This was on tap at O’brien’s Lost Abbey Night, Tonight January 16th 2009. This beer was totally mobbed tonight and it was crazy. Pours deep reddish brown with a tan ring. Nose is excellent, huge rich cherry tart nose, makes my mouth salivate. Taste is rich ruddy tart cherry smooth, and mellow. Sort of like a mellow La Folie. Super happy to get to try this, hell yeah. Earlier Rating: 12/2/2007 Total Score: 4.3 PP Strong Ale Fest 07. Tomme Arthur nicely brought over 2 bottles to our raters table in the back on Saturday and damn thanks for this special gift Tomme, great 2 days and this was one of many highlights. Pours cloudy orange with a thin tan ring. Nose is sour kicking with cherry notes. Taste is sweet, cherry, sour, oaky killer killer sour, lots of high quality aspects here, can’t wait to this is commercially released. CaryTheDude (1113), Longmont, Colorado, USA

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 9, 2009 In short: A dirty and unusual not-so-sour brown ale. Interesting
How: Bottle 375ml, consumed when about 1 year old (the aging I like to give to most sour ales). Sent to me by my generous buddy WeeHeavySD. Thanks a lot Jon!
The look: A small beige head over an ugly opaque dirty brown body with particles
In long: Nose is rather musty and not the nice funky-musty. Taste improves a lot on the nose. Very woody, but not typical sour-ale oak-like wood, more like the big mahogany wood used for classy furniture. A lot of horse blanket. The beer is also quite earthy. Some red apples, some band-aids, some cherries, some chestnuts, some caramel. Very musty but more pleasantly musty than the rotten musty nose. Dirty yeast all over the place. Actually this has to be the dirtiest sour(ish) ale I’ve ever had. Sourness level is somewhat low for a Sour-Ale. The beer is actually quite complex in the way it brings together a lot of flavour elements but it is also a bit all over the place. This beer is very interesting in a “that’s pretty fucked-up” kind of way. This is like a classic flemish sour that has been dragged in the mud and then left in a smelly barnyard to dry. A very good beer but not the what I was expecting, I think I should have drank this one fresher. I wish I could go back in time to late 2007 and have it when it was fresh. And sell my stock port-folio for treasury bonds while I’m there. brewblackhole (1384), Muskego, Wisconsin, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 26, 2008 aroma is pure oak barrel and its bacteria, fruit is certainly there ,but its hard to nail it down as cherries.Sour cherry comes through a little more in the taste ,but the oak the pleasing acidic tartness of lactobacillus still dominating factor. Looks like we are at the ponit where the barrel flavor is the main thing, which is fine ith me. Next up,an Imperial Sour? Thanks Kingpin LilBeerDoctor (1519), East Setauket, New York, USA

Aroma of yeasty funk, some cherry undertones. Flavor is sour and tart, with some acidity at first with light cherry fruits and cinnamon in the finish. This reminds me a bit of 3 Fonteinen Schaerbeekse. Very nice.
