Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

2009 bottle. Deep black pour with a mocha brown head. Nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, sweet cocoa. Roasted malt, a slight burnt taste, cocoa, chocolate and sweetness and a dry finish. You can taste the alcohol as the stout warms up a bit. Nice balanced flavors. Small lacing.

Bottle from Malt & Vine. Tasted blind with 14 other stouts. Pours a solid black crude with dark mocha head. Nice chocolate and bread aroma. Tastes very very sweet, but still good. Interesting oily syrupy feel with low carbonation. Little bitter finish that goes long.

Bottle. Looks really good, tastes really bad. One of my biggest dissapointements in beer tasting. Too sweet and unbalanced. I don’t like peanut butter, in fact I’m allergic to it

Pours a dark brown, almost black, with thin dark tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, slight coffee and chocolate, vanilla, and a bit of caramel. Flavor matches well with the addition of slight sweetness and dried dark fruit. Quite a nice brew.

Bottle: The aroma has lots of black licorice, strong chocolate, plum, and a hint of roasted coffee. It pours a dark brown with no transparency and a small brown head that leaves behind some thin webbed lacing behind. The flavors starts with moderate chocolate and some light black licorice. There is some plum fruitiness in the middle. The finish has some roasted coffee and dark chocolate. Medium-full bodied with mild carbonation and a slick mouthfeel.

2008 bottle. Poured black with small tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, licorice, chocolate, light fruit, hint of alcohol. Taste is also very malty, with chocolate, licorice, and some light fruit. Very solid. Mouth is smooth and full. Overall, a very solid imperial stout.
