Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Quite complex with many different flavors coming thru on this offering from LA. Some hoppiness, coffee notes, light milky chocolate, maybe a little licorice. Overall very nice bottle of beer.

Big thanks to drgonzo for sharing this wonderful and complex stout. Enjoyed a nice sample while sitting around the fire pit. Lot’s of complex aromas intertwined with one another mostly dark fruits, rich chocolate, molasses, and plenty of roasted goodness. The sweet fruitiness in the aroma was well received and added a nice twist. It was dark outside at this point, but so was the beer and I was able to notice a frothy head and some stringy lacing. Full bodied and extremely rich, I took time with this one and was thankful for doing so. Bitter and sweet, very heavy and filling. Flavors mimicked the aroma but a juicy port wine flavor really came through tying the burnt, roasted flavors with the sugary, fruity ones. This one is first class.

On tap at the brewery in San Marcos. Pours a black body with virtually no head. Just a bit of brown around the edges. Aroma is quite sweet with lots of dark fruits, licorice, bittersweet chocolate, and soft roasts. Some light pine and vanilla with a bit of a Belgian yeast. The flavor is very similar with lots going on from beginning to end. Very rich and sweet with a subdued roast. Coffee, chocolate, dark fruit, licorice, bready malts, and a tad sour. A good amount of assertive woody hops, but very balanced. Finishes partially dry with lots of lingering richness. Palate is medium bodied and very silky. Has a real cask conditioned feel to it. Overall, a damn good Imp Stout. Lots going on here. It doesn’t attack you like a lot of Imp Stouts, but stays balanced and edgeless. Delicious.

Bottle. Pours completely opaque black - held it up to the light, and nothing shines through. Ring of thin tan head and some lacing. Aroma is roasty malt & alcohol. Thick, creamy mouthfeel, leaves a coating on your tongue and roof of mouth. Full bodied flavor of sweet dark malt throughout, with slightly bitter finish. Some coffee flavor and a hint of smoke.

Bottle 75 cl. Courtesy of goryskewych. Pours completely opaque black with a light brown head. Intensely sweet aroma of hard roasted malt. Quite full-bodied, sweetish hard roasted malt and coffee with notes of chocolate also. Discreetly mat bitter finish. Yummy. 010509

Pours opaque black with an incredible thick brown head forming that lasted for nearly 20 minutes and showed no signs of going away! Smells of chocolate are intense but gives way to other aromas such as dark fruit and licorice. Mouthfeel is a little oily yet creamy as well; body is full. Beautiful tastes of bitter dark chocolate are most notable. Other glorius flavors such as roasted coffee, sweet fruits, and toffee are also available. Finish is slightly dry and hoppy. Very smooth, easy to drink, deeply complex and easy to enjoy! A beautiful stout!

Bottle at RnH Drink for Charity. Thanks to everyone who brought great beer to this. Even me, I brought this. Black with dark head and lace. Espresso smoke ash wood fruit aroma. Rich roasted bittersweet dark chocolate and espresso bitterness. Very rich and smooth. Excellent. This is the kind of imperial stout I like. Rich and robust with minimal fruit.
