pours a jet black with a small brown head, and good lacing. smell of cocoa, some coffee, sour malt, a touch of vanilla, and a whiff of smoke. taste is thick and creamy, chocolate, strong coffee in the back, licorice, a touch of smoke, and some sour malt, end is dry

Bottle at the “Drink for Charity” event at Rattle & Hum. I brought one and there were 2 others, so I’m not sure whose bottle it was. Pours a dark black with a thin tan head. Chocolate, and plums on the nose. Thin to medium bodied with a touch of alcohol before a pile of roast comes through. Finishes with more roast, plums, chocolate, and a little licorice and wintergreen.

Pours deep brown almost black with a creamy brown head. Aroma of chocolate and toffee and roasted malts. Flavour is chocolate, toffee, roasted malts with some hoppy dryness. Very creamy, full bodied with a nice long dry aftertaste to balance the sweetness from the toffee.

Pours very deep brown, almost black. Impressive, creamy, brown head. Great duration and it leaves some fine lacings. Powerful and dry aroma, lots of coffee, roasted malts, bready and some grassy hops. Great creamy mouthfeel, lowish carbonation. Flavour has chocolate, some cold coffee (minus the bitterness), mild viniousness, quite sweet; especially in the finish. Aftertaste has more bitterness with some dark chocolate and warming viniousness. Good.

Bottled@Oliver Twist. Apperance: Very dark-brownish with a generous head. Aroma: Lots of malt, Caramel, Ripe fruit, Cocoa and hints of yeast. Flavor: Chocolate, Coffee, Sugar, Belgian yeast and dark bread. Palate: Much like a belgian stout in character with excessive sweetness at the end. Good brew but too sweet for my palate.

750 ml bottle thanks to Sparky27. Pours a pure black color with a small brown color. The aroma is rich; sweet dark fruits, roasted malts and light caramel and molasses. The flavor is rich; lots of earthy roasted malts, caramel, dark fruits, cocoa, yeast, liquorish, light chocolates and hops in the finish. Very drinkable, a 750 goes do oh so well. Very nice.

Bottled. A black beer with a brown head. The aroma is sweet with notes of malt, both sweet and roasted, and bread, as well as a slight hint of something burnt. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, alcohol, roasted bread, and coffee as well as light notes of chocolate, leading to a dry roasted finish. It also has a light acidity from the roasted malt.

Bottle. Pitch black body with a creamy brown head. Vinous aroma with heavy notes of roasted malt and chocolate. Flavour is loads of roasted malt, coffee, chocolate, dried fruit and some bourbon. Thick creamy body. Lovely Impy!
