Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Black and creamy. Considerable alcohol. Very bourony without having bourbon taste - if that makes sense. Licorice. Chocolate. The right flavors. Excellent.

750 ml bottle. Pours a nice pitch black with a foamy beige head- good lace. Aroma is very roasty, nutty, licorice, hints of earthy, dirt and smoke- burnt campfire- and char with some nice deep chocolate malts. Lightly fruity flavor with more char, toasted malts, earth, good roasted barely and a moderate earthy and herbal hop presence. Smooth and easy drinking for a 11% stout. nice.

Bottle. Pours deep, dark, and syrupy, with a pretty large brown head that died down gradually. Nose is chocolaty with dark fruits. Taste is of chocolate and plums, cherries and roasted malts. On first sip, I also noticed a lot of the alcohol, but on subsequent sips didn’t notice nearly as much. Very nice beer if you like imperial stouts (and I do!)

Bottle into snifter. Huge thanks to buckeyesox for this one - I believe it’s about a year old. Pours opaque black, with a one-finger very fluffy dark brown head, settling down into a denser, but thin, brown cap that doesn’t want to go away. The head is fantastic for this beer. Nose is equally fantastic - a nice mix of espresso, rich chocolate, and vivid dark fruits, with the emphasis on the dark fruits and cocoa. The nose is just so rich but still supremely balanced and integrated. Starts off with just a huge, delicious espresso presence right off the bat, with a secondary note of rich cocoa, and lots of licorice and dark fruit swirling around in there. There’s a smoky tobacco quality as well. Superb in every respect. Mouthfeel is just as fantastic - lighter than expected, with a more active carbonation that’s still soft and light on the tongue. You just don’t want to stop drinking this thing. Almost no alcohol presence, fantastic mouthfeel, delicious flavor - can’t say enough about this beer. Hits on all cylinders. As a note, the alcohol starts to warm you up about halfway through, and comes out a bit more as the beer hits room temperature, but never detracts from the flavors or body of the beer. Still an A+ effort.

Pours opaque black with thin hints of ruby when helt to the light. The head starts off at around 2 fingers but fades to 1/4 inch or so after a while and holds pretty well there. Aroma is lots of chocholate and espresso, toffee, lots of roast, caramel sweetness, scotch, wheat like notes, salt water taffey and a decent dose of raisins and plum. Flavor is roasty, chocolate and suprisingly fruity up front. Toffee, smokey scotch notes, dried plum, hints of overripe cherry, chocolate and coffee notes continue. Toward the middle caramel, charred wood, and pine notes. Finish is sweet roast, espresso, cacao, anise, dark hot cocoa, and a healthy dose of herbal and bitter hops. This one definitely get better as it warms. Palate is medium to thick with a creamy, slightly oily feel entering, a chewey caramel center and a dry, slightly oily finish. Carbonation is soft and pleasant. Overall this is a pretty good Impy Stout but there

Deep black in colour with a long lasting tan head, excellent lacing. The aroma is very roasty with lots of chocolate malt, burnt malts, some smoke and sweetness. The flavour is moderately sweet, some smoke, very malty and burnt, toasty but at the same time smooth and creamy. Sweet malty mouthfeel, medium/large body, medium carbonation. Finishes long, sweet, burnt and malty

Very well balanced, no alcohol at all. This is highly drinkable. Very well done.

750ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.
