Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Bottle; ended my streak of IPAs. Poured a really nice dark color with a big brown head. Nice looking. Lacing. Aroma of coffee, cocoa, oats, chalk and the faintest hints of caramel and vanilla. Easy drinking, in a good way. Very smooth flavor; cocoa, roasted malt, molasses and vanilla. Nice finish; full bodied. Really good stuff here.

Pours a four finger light tan head that fades very slowly to a thin layer leaving some lace. Totally black color. Good carbonation and heavy bodied. Malty/alcohol nose. Flavor is molasses and some alcohol. Some dryness at finish. Decent imperial stout. Pricey at $13.99 for a 750ml bottle from Yankee Spirits South Attleboro, Ma.

Bottle (also tasted tonight were Great Lakes Stout, Hoppin Frog black & tan and Green Flash Stout) - Pours black with medium tan head with good retention. Aroma is rosted malts and espresso, with some hints of sweetness. Mild alcohol notes. Flavor wasn’t as big as I was thinking it would be. Definitely roasted and coffee like - maybe some subtle dried dark fruits. Good balance of flavors for a big stout, but I liked the Great Lakes one a bit better.

Aromas of chocolate, roast, and dark fruits. Pours dark brown with a great big head into my snifter. Is a nice mix of roasted malts and pleasant sweetness in the form of chocolate and dark fruit. Dry roasty finish. Creamy body and incredibly smooth carbonation. This one is delicious.

Dark beer with a samll brown head. Nose of chocolate and raisen bread. Rich creamy mouthfeel. Flavors of melted chocolate, coffee, raisens, prunes with a long coffee bitterness. Really nice impy stout.

750ml bottle. Aroma: Chocolate cupcakes, raisins, coffee, roasted malt. Some light alcohol as it warms. Appearance: Deep black in color with no highlights. Dark tan head was full and creamy with good retention. Good lacing. Flavor: Roasted malt with notes of cocoa, smoke, and espresso. Raisins, bananas, and yeast. Finishes fairly dry. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Light alcohol warmth in back of mouth. Overall: Well balanced, flavorful, and a good drinker. Another solid beer from LA.
