Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

dark black color with thin layer of reddish tan head. Aroma is high octane port. Palate is rich and chewy with a roasted molasses and fruity flavor. Very complex finish with a just right amount of hoppy bitterness to balance out the rich chewy taste and high alcohol content.

Many thanks to GorditoABD...Pours a thick black with a medium tan head. Aroma is very chocolatey with notes of vanilla and roasted malt. Flavor follows the nose with hints of dark fruit, but more chocolate than anything. Smooth creamy finish....Fantastic! Thanks Chris!

2009 bottle dark brown-black pour, with a super-dark filmy head. aroma is belgian-stout-y and bursting with tons of different things: malt, grains, vanilla, scotch, chocolate, prunes, figs, tons of green olives, and sweet warm alcohol. flavor is a well-balanced mix of sweet, bitter, and alcohol bite, though reminiscent of thick chocolate milk. full bodied with a smooth but dry mouthfeel, has a long, sweet, and strongly alcoholic finish.

’09 bottle thanks to hophead22!
Black with a thin tan head that fizzles away upon pouring, leaving an oil slick behind. Nose is way sugary, bordering on juice with the light fruit, hints of roast and chocolate. Again simple in the flavor, more roast and licorice but a majority of the sugar, grape, and plum from the nose. Thin body, sugary finish with roast and licorice. Very simple and disappointingly aged, it’s already thinning out before a year.

Bottled 750ml. -from City Beer Store, San Francisco. Black coloured, medium sized thick brown head, sweet chocolate nose. Roasted malt, bitter chocolate and coffee with notes of wood and smoke. Alcohol is noticable, finish is bitter. Again easy drinkable and very good imperial stout.

Bottled at Stockholm Beer Festival 2009. Black color with dark tan head. Thick roasty aroma with coffee, charcoal, raisins, prunes, rum and some hot alcohol. Sweet, roasty and warming flavor with coffee, raisins and chocolate. Nice stout with a dark fruit character. hot alcohol in the aroma and flavor is disturbing a bit.

31/10 A 0.75 l bottle courtesy of ogivlado, huge thanks for sharing! It poured oily black body with smaller head. Very fine aroma of some chocolate, coffee and caramel. Flavor had some fruitiness, toffee, slightly sweetish and sourish with of course bitter coffee component being quite strong as well. Relatively simple though, with thinner body for an IS. Medium finish with pleasant roasted malts. Alcohol is greatly hidden, didn’t mention it in my notes at all! Typical, but in the same time different in its own way, this is nice Imperial Stout.

Pours dark, with a creamy tan head. Big nose of dried fruit, chocolate and hints of coffee. Flavor is all over the place. Each sip brings a new joy to the palate. Dried fruits, chocolate, roated nuts, espresso and just a touch of brown sugar. Nice dry bitterness from the hops. Great creamy mouthfeel.
