Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

750ml corked bottle and served in my Stone IRS snifter: Pitch black with a good sized frothy tan head which left very good lace upon the glass. The aroma has notes of ashy charred and chocolate malting, light plum and molasses, coffee, grassy hops, and a dusty yeast ester.

The taste starts with a brash dark fruit, dark malt and biting alcohol overture with a melody of coffee, ash, and slight hop spice in complementary position. The mouth feel is nicely aggressive with carbonation and heat, a tad oily and metallic.

While a nice Impy right now, age should mellow out the brash edges I hope. Another fine effort from Tomme (I type that alot).

Syrupy black pour, with a tall brown frothy head that fades slowly leaving behind beautiufl tan lacing. Silky milk chocolate nose and malted maltballs. Nutty hazelnuts, chocolate milk, roasted coffee and toasty hints of caramel and butter pecan. Finishes with a toffee honey sweetness and is reminiscent of ice cream. This is one of the best stouts I have ever tried. Thanks Bryan!

Poured a dark black color with a huge almost too big brown head. Aroma was very complex with hints of chocolate, coffee, fig, nuts, and some vanilla. Flavor was deep and roasted but also sweetened by the chocolate and molasses flavors. Excellent stout.

750 ml bottle. Pours black with a nice big very dark tan head. Aroma has more alcohol in it than even most big stouts that I’ve had, with a lot of chocolate and some roast. Flavor is like a nice bitter dark chocolate, very nice. There’s a little bit more acidity to it than I’d prefer, but all-told VERY tasty.

Pours to a viscous black body with a tall foamy dark brown head and nice lacing. The aroma is grainy, almost organic aroma of sweet barley and black malts. Chocolate, dark fruits, prunes, roasted malts, yeasty like Darklord. Very Dark Lord-esque aroma. Extremely rich taste. Slight oats up front that’s immediately masked by a strong black patent, rich chocolate, dark malts, dark milk chocolate, and yeasty dark fruits. Sweet roasty mouthfeel. Warming and acetic.

Viscous black body under a huge tan head. Roasty dark chocolate and raisin aroma. The flavor starts with a kick of creamy oatmeal and is then replaced by acidic roast, chocolate, and dark fruits. A good I.S. but it’s marred by too-high carbonation. Nice oatmeal element however.
