Commercial Description:
The history of the bible and religion is indeed the struggle of good vs. evil. Our Serpent’s Stout recognizes the evil of the dark side that we all struggle with. This is a massively thick and opaque beer that begs the saints to join the sinners in their path to a black existence.

Bottle from Beermerchants.com. Pours jet black with a beige/brown head which makes a very brief appearance. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, dark fruits, licorice. Flavours of raisins, dark chocolate, some smoke, brown sugar. Quite earthy. Very pleasent mouthfeel. Nice, warming alcohol. Let’s you know it’s there. Finishes sweet and hoppy. Very nice.

Bottled. Pitch black coloured. Brown coloured dense head. cocoa, roast, chocolate, vanilla, wood, spice, light prunes, some herbs and light berries. Flavour of chocolate, alcohol, cocoa, roast, light liqourice, berries, light grass and herbs and some coffee. Full bodied. Has a sweet and alcoholdense end. Nice restrained roasty bitterness. Very complex and surprisingly smooth. Thx to secret santa Mike for this.

Bottle @ The Dome. Black with brown disappearing head. Sweet malty, chocolate, somewhat burnt. A hint of warming alcohol. Just what I seek in a stout like this. Full but not sticky bodied, with a long cocoa bitter end. Damn’ good! Father forgive me, I’m a sinner...

bottle generously sent as a bonus from bockyhorsey. poured black with a chocolate brown head and some spotted lacing. aroma was better than i was expecting with caramel, toffee, chocolate, dark roast, licourice?, and some darker fruits. flavor was alcohol, dark roast, baking cocoa, and a nice sharp bitter at the end. body was heavy with low carbonation. this was better than i was expecting. good job LA.

Colour is black, head is light brown and lasting. Dark aroma, roasted, coffee, chocolate, faint dark fruit. Flavor is sweet, has a long-long duration. Creamy texture, soft carbonation.

750 ml. from The Red House in Renton. Nice viscous pour. Nice blac opaque body. Really nice looking beer. Fairly sweet (the roasted malts are killer). Coffee aroma is coming through as well. The subtle chocolate aroma is coming through quite well. Damn, that is a nice roasty, coffee, sweet malt flavor. Just very well balanced. There is more roast than anything, but you notice the chocolate, roast, and coffee right away. A well rounded stout. Nice touches of vanialla sweetness. If I weren’t competely trashed this may be a bit different. Heay malt presence, but there is a nice old aged bourbon/bottle conditioned leather/wood/bourbon flavored taste. There are a lot of nuances in this beer. I thought this would not be carbonated, but boy I was wrong.

Bottle shared by badnewsbeers. Deep opaque brown/black body, medium-thin ochre head. Rich, complex nose, with milk chocolate, dark fruits (plum, cherry, berries), roasted malts, and warming wisps of alcohol. Silky, soft body with plummy chocolate, marshmallow, and charred roasted malts, enhanced by warming alcohol. Good heft. An excellent, rich stout.

750 ml corked bottle. An opaque black beer with a small, mostly lasting brown head. The aroma is extremely powerful and rather complex, heavily malty, lightly hoppy and yeasty with notes of roasted grains, chocolate, coffee, alcohol and a hint of dark fruits. The flavour is heavily sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter. Quite clean. Medium to full body, average carbonation, long finish with medium bitterness, moderately alcoholic. Very good stout with a light Belgian touch. I’d definately buy this again.

Wow. what a beer! So smooth and drinkable for 11%, the alcohol is well hidden. It has all the usual characteristics of a good Imperial Stout, but has a little of the sightly sweet dark fruit thing going on like the strong Belgians. Excellent!!!!!!
