Bottle; poured a darker than expected cola brown with reddish hints. Off white head. Aroma of sour cherries, wood, cola, dark fruit and earth. Very nice on the palate, especially the ending and after taste. Very soft at comforting. Really complex (and not overly sour) flavor. A good amount of cherry, cola, wood, earth, dark fruit with a slight underbelly of caramel. My favorite for the style thus far

375ml bottle. Aroma was like a sweeet and sour mixed drink than beer. Murky brown body with little head. Flavor was tart sour and crisp at first. Flavor changed over to bourbon on the finish. Was too tart at first on palate but as the bourbon balanced that out in the end. Good brew..

Wow, this is some good stuff. Thanks Walt for the bottle. Pours a cloudy dark brown with basically no head. It has the classic sour smell. A little bit acidic. Nice mixture of oak, yeast, bourbon? Very good and very interesting. Hopefully I am smart enough to join the Sinner club next year...because it is so worth the money in my opinion.

375 ml bottle - pours very dark brown and flat; no head or carbonation; clear light brown along the edges; funky aromas of sour cherries, chocolate, dirt and wood; flavors on the sweet side at first taste and has a crisp, dry finish; cherries throughout and a tarty aftertaste; texture on the thin side and kind of blah IMO; could use more of the chocolate; musky and dank; overall, not that impressed with this one; maybe b/c it’s a blend

Cork pops with very little sound. A slow pour yields a dark purple brown colored body, mostly clear, with only a small film of a head on top. Very nice nose, a good mixture of tobacco, burnt dark fruit and nuts, some nice Flemish-red sharpness as well. Some creamed plums, acidic sweet bourbon, very interesting, but also a bit conflicting as well. Prickly mild sourness, dark fruit, bourbon, wood, a little bit of char. Contains elements of a quad, a flemish red, a bourbon barrel strong ale, an interesting mixture. Impressive and tasty, but not world-changing.

Bottle. Consumed after a particularly bad day of work. Hazy brown with the faintest of white heads. Candy sugar, oak and yeast intermingle in the sour aroma. A very tart body with plenty of oaky funk remind me of a Cuvee de Tomme on steriods. Fantastic.

Bottle from 08 Night of the Funk. Aroma of candy shop fruits, chocolate covered fruits, woodiness. Flavor of tangy earth, raspberries, chocolate, toffee, hint of other red berries. Unique and delish.

Bottle sampled on 09/26/08 at Night of the Funk. Pours a dirty brown with a small white head. Aroma of tart sweet candies and some roasted malt notes. This is an interesting-tasting beer. Flavor of cocoa, coffee, a hint of bourbon, along with tart bretty notes and sweettart candies. An interesting blend of flavors that did somehow mesh well but was a little off-putting nonetheless.
