| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Spicy, almost meaty aroma. A bit too sweet for my taste. Cloying spice and wood come though and overpower the funk and acid a bit. It’s still pretty damn good, though. PilsnerPeter (2617), Flushing, New York, USA
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 23, 2008 Bottle: (Thanks giarcsr!) Pours a muddy brown with a strong/dense creamy tan head. Very interesting aroma. Toasted brown sugar notes precede a dense oak character, along with rich fruitiness of raisin, passion fruit tartness, brett earthiness of leather and even more I couldn’t pinpoint. Has a dense yet cleansing feel on the palate. Huge complex flavor with numerous layers offering funky leather in the fore, cherry skin tartness, toasted brown sugar (dark Belgian malt subtleties), smooth oak, chocolate covered raspberries, and subtle toasty vanilla blending harmoniously with lactic tart notes. A beautiful beer! JoeMcPhee (5000), Jackson Heights, New York, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Sep 21, 2008 Big thanks to pilsnerpeter for sharing this one. Rich deep brown beer with a thin tan head. Aroma is really incredible. Rich sour aroma, sweet raisins, licorice, chocolate and soft oaky bourbony sweetness. There is also a nice earthy balsamic sweetness. Flavour is also really awesome. Sweet dark date/raisin malts earthy and a bit herbal with a soft cocoaish flavour on the back. Lightly fruity and acetic with a rich lactic tartness as well. Warming brings out even more complexity... soft apple, sweet oak and soft dark malts. Chewy and sweet yet light and tart at the same time. Wow... this is a masterpiece. | 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 19, 2008 Appearance: Pours a dark, reddish-brown body with a tiny, though creamy-looking, tan head.
Smell: Creme caramel candy jacketed by an earthy, ascetic sourness and rich, satisfying notes of wine, cherries, peppermint, and vanilla beans.
Taste: A curious blend of sweetened dark caramel, varnished wood, a fruity top-tier wine, and a tart sourness that’s mighty persistent. It’s terribly hard not to burst out singing "More Than a Feeling" after your first taste of Sinners ’08. Further oaky hints. Splash of black cherry cola. Some bruised mint leaves. Touch of vanilla. Smooth finish that’s both dry and gently sour.
Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Low carbonation.
Drinkability: Scrumptious. When you pop open a bottle of Lost Abbey you’re ready for par excellence, but it ultimately delivers that and then some. Kind of like going to a NASCAR race and getting a free t-shirt! dalekliz (546), San Diego, California, USA

Very sour aroma, of vinegar funkiness and fruit. Taste is also very sour, with sweeter malt and fruit. Light lingering sourness. Very tasty. drewbeerme (2274), Chicago, Illinois, USA

| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Sep 14, 2008 Bottle, thanks to my good friend alexanderj, rating #1000. Dark brown, red around the edges, with some tan head. Aroma is wood and some sour cherries. The first sip is just so full and soft on the palate. Nice sweet malt, dark fruit, yields to sour cherries, wood, and a little alcohol. Finish is both sweet and sour. Nice beer.
