Pours a deep brownish/red with a small head very low in carbonation. Strong sours smells of fruits and tarts. First sip is sour, tarty, and fruity. Cherries and apples notes are evident. This is one fine sour. Very nice mouthfeel.

375ml bottle brought by andrew. thanks again my man.....dark cloudy red brown pour with an even light brown head.... tart cherries, some funkiness, sweet caramel malt, and a good amount of woodiness make up the nose...nice array of flavors with what seems to be some red poppy flavors with the tart cherries. more wood comes into play with sweeter caramel malts that mingle well with each other. decent mouthfeel and an overall nice beer.

HUGE thanks to Sparky for hooking me up with this one! Tried to get this a time or two, and the deals always fell through. A very very nice Sour Ale. Pours a purple-brown color with a thin white head. Aroma is tart cherries, musky wood, and hints of dark fruit. Very, very sour, almost turns your mouth inside out. Tart cherries with hints of wood, malt, straw, and fruit. Some bourbon, spice, and plums floating around in there as well. Texture is just about perfect, medium, but bold. Slightly dry on the finish, and very tart and bitter. Just sour as all hell in every aspect, with an awesome funk profile. Man, I really really liked this one. Can;t say enough good things about it...gotta try and find another!

Sampled on 9/11/2008. This sour ale pours a deep brown color from a corked 375ml bottle. Small to medium sized white/beige foamy head. The aroma is tart sour cherries, must and wood. A medium bodied sour ale. The malts are fruity and sweet. There is a whole lot of tartness, sourness, funk and wood going on here. It is nearly mouth puckering tart, but there is nice malty fruitiness to balance most of the tartness. This beer really has that Flanders/Rodenbach feel to it. More in the way the flavors mix and match than in any particular flavor. An awesome, absolutely world-class beer. Can’t wait to see how this one ages. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is tart with some wood.

The poured murky purple to brown in color with a thick head of fine bubbles that dissipated slowly. The nose was fairly complex and showed balanced dark fruit (raisins), cola (Dr. Pepper), herbs and spice (cinnamon, white pepper). In the mouth it was tart and almost tannic from the oak aging. Well-balanced with nice richness in the midpalate which fades to a dry finish with some lingering bitterness.

Dark brown with a thin tan head. Nice medium strong aroma of musty wood with barnyard, cherry, lemon; lots to savor here. Medium body. Great flavors of cedar wood, caramel, fruity cherry and lemon with a hint of smoke. i could taste some CD Tomme in here. Very nice, complex blend, and my favorite of the Sinners releases so far this year.

My 800th rating. Bottle thanks to Bu11zeye, I really appreciate it. Aroma is spicey with cinnamon, chocolate, burbon, cherry sourness, oak, rum raisin (very complex, notes of cookie dough too). Pours with a light brown head and a dark brown body. Taste is sourness with raisins and grape, some spiceyneess, and a lot of dark fruits to round it off. Light bubbles.

12.7 oz bottle. Dark purple brown with some lacy froth. Nose is cherry, red currants and lemon funk. Juicy nectar with a sparkle. Taste hits all the cherry notes with juice, peel and pits. Some grape, crabapple and pear. Smooth drying with oak, pepper and cinnamon. Elegantly sweet turning gently sour. Top notch.
