RBSG @ LA. Poured a hazed brown-amber color with a beige head. The aroma started with a sweet fruity malt and then showed a mild tartness and some alcohol. Woody tart flavor with notes of brown sugar. Light warmth in the chest.

Bottle shared at a tasting last fall- forgot who shared- Rceisla? Pours a coppery deep orange amber with a thinning head. Aroma is similar to a flemmish red- acetic, slight vinegar, tart cherry, toasty and sweet malts, slight caramel and slight wet paper oxidation already. Flavor has some nice cherry pit and almond up front slightly nutty, lots of flemish cherry flavor, tart cherry pie pedio notes, and aceto- similar to red poppy, and cuvee de tomme.

courtesy of fogdog. Pours cloudy copper brown Aroma some funk, and notes of sour Taste, fruity, with very light tones of bourbon. Sour with a kick of oak and smooth vanilla. Medium carbonation. Not a big fan of sour, but this one is just wonderful.

(12.7oz bottle) courtesy of Irishboy and sampled with Enniskillen. Mellow brown body. Nose of sour cherries, salted chocolate. Flavour is amazing in its ability to turn from sour to spiced. Really amazing. World class beer. 8/3/10/4/18

Bottle from IrishBoy. Brown with a quickly dissapating off white head. Brown color with ruby edges. Aroma is oak, cherries, caramel, light alcohol. Taste is a nice cherry and caramel oaky sourness. Not terribly complex, but good.

Bottle shared by BA Barleywinebrewer..Thanks Bill! Pours burnished, dark brown, with tinges of ruby edging and almost opaque. A beige head of one inch faded quickly, with a few errant dots of lacework. Aromatics lead off with earth-dusted sour cherries, spice, and leather-wrapped wood. Hints of Rosemary, Thyme, and mint add a wonderfull complexity. Some firm acidity developes quickly, as well as bits of bitter chocolate, vanilla, and oaky tannins. A wine-like vineousity pulls through in the finish. Medium bodied, sharp on the pallet, and crisp. Slightly creamy as well. Cherry pits, dusty boards, peppery spice, and balsamic start the pallet. An herbal, earthy quality steps forward. Peppermint, Rosemary, Thyme, and white pepper. Ripe malt and dark fruit follow though, with lingering acidity. Finishes with herb infused balsamic, burnt leather, tart cherries, earth-covered wood, and a lingering vineousity. Wowza, great beer. It tastes like a blend of Cuvee de Tomme and 10 Commandments. Regardless, the pedigree screams Judgement day.

375ml bottle thanks to Tayner. Dark, dark, brown with almost no head. Smells like sour cherries and spice. Flavor is sour cherries and rosemary, some cocoa, interesting. This was good but not amazing. Seek out if you are a Lost Abbey fan but there are much better sours out there, even from Lost Abbey. Serving type: bottle Reviewed on: 10-12-2008 21:54:39
