Bottle at NOTF 9/26/08. Dark brown in color with a nice tan head. Sour cherry and oak aroma. Vanilla and dark fruity notes. Malty and dark fruity oak flavor. Cherry chocolate and plum notes. Dry finish. Medium bodied. Sour tasting. Very drinkable. Nice.

Pours dark brown, some yellow/tan head. This smells like wood, sour cherries, vanilla, some dark fruits. Taste is notably sour, rasins, plums, leather, some balsamic sweet/sour. Well rounded, drinkable, this would probably age well if I came across more.

nice brown pour with a tan head. Aroma is up front plum, fruit, and red wine. Flavor has a nice cherry, oak, funky fruit, caramel, vine, chocolate. This had a nice sourness to round it all out. Very different sour.

375, corked and baled. Pours nearly black with a thick, fizzing --seriously, it almost sizzles--tan head. Head sticks around for a while but falls away to nothing, with no lace. Big plum and cherry nose, running into serious overripe fruit territory, almost like ground rot. But definitely dark pitted tree fruit. Body is light on carb, and not a big beast at all, either, but it is certainly heavier than water. Dark, somewhat acetic mid-palate, with the tanginess of that overripe tree fruit but bleeding into balsamic territory, and quite drying. Long dry finish, in fact. Wonderful, but not quite transcendent or divine, as I had hoped it might be.

375mL Bottle. Flickr(http://www.flickr.com/photos/26049401@N0 Weird floral acid note. Total ass note in the aroma. A bit of diapers and butt. Light apple alcohol. A conflicting mix of good and bad sour aromas. Pours a chestnut dark mahogany, rim of whitish. Very sour overall. Bright clean acidity. A bit of butter, bourbon, cherry and clean lactic acids. Interesting, there is definitely some Cuvee de Tomme. Bits of clean cherry, oak, bourbon and nice acids. Fresh. Not really a Top 50 beer, but more of a watered down Cuvee de Tomme. Fairly classic Lost Abbey. Thanks Sean!

Bottle in a trade. Pours a dark brown body with a 1 finger off white head. Sweet cherries, woody with a light oak character. Dark fruit, rasins. Sour cherries and balsamic. Whats the blend Cuvee de tomme, judgement day, and?

Pours a very dark brown in color. Very nice inch of off white head on the pour. Smell is tart and very ripe dark fruits. Taste is even more of the dark ripe fruits. Almost too much of the dark plum and raisins. Not overly sour in the flavor. Theres a bit of a peat flavor in the taste as well. Not sure that these flavors are melding well together very well. They kind of just stuck out on their own. I was expecting a bit more.

Thanks kmweaver, wherever you are. Pours dark brown, large, creamy beige head, with some floaties. Aroma is sour, raisins, smoke, some malt (caramel), cherries, peat. Not too tart, but nice blended flavor. Touch of alcohol in aftertaste.
