Nose is wood and tart sour cherries. Sour up front with moderate acidity. Woody with great body and some vinegar notes. Finishes sour with a hint of bitterness and some cool funk. Nice sour but not their best. kramer (2517), Sunbury, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 25, 2009 375 ml bottle. Pours a dark brown body with a large frothy beige head that retains as a creamy film. Nice sour brown nose, some balsamic vinegar, dark fruits, lightly woody. Nice, but it smells like a lot of other Sour Browns. The flavor has a nice sour character without being overly acetic or puckering, great balsamic vinegar and woody balance, not as sharp as I’d like it though. Nice sour cherry finish. LIghter accents of citrus rinds, cellar funk, and a touch of brett. A little sticky and clingy on the palate before the acetic vinegar astringency dries things up on the finish, further dried out by some oak tannins. Pretty nice beer, but I’ll take a Supplication or Oerbier Reserva any day. ericandersnavy (1139), crossroads, Texas, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 9, 2009 375 ml bottle from WTF OMG tasting. Pours a dark reddish brown color topped a foamy, tan colored head that leaves nice rings of lacing around the glass. The aroma is really funky of old wood, sour cherries, vinegar, and earthy spices. The flavor follows with more funky old oak, very tart and sour cherries and other dark fruit, and some more earthy spices. The wood is very funky, but adds a nice vanilla component which smooths things out along with some lactic cream. Medium bodied with ample carbonation that leads to a dry, sour cherry finish. This is a really funky and tasty sour ale. Glad I got to try this one. mar (1972), Dallas, Texas, USA
