I am not a big fan of this style but when i got this bottle i sat on it for a while until now and i was very surprised to see how good this was with a nice but not overwhelming bourbon taste that poured a nice dark amber and had a malty and alcohol kick to it.CHEERS!

Thanks to our Lost Abbey memebers for opening this fine brew. Pours amber with off white head. Aroma is just excellent, bourbon and oak just engulf the glass, plenty of nice malts and sweetness (vanilla). Taste, dark fruits, and a nice almost coconut taste coupled with butterscotch and vanilla that coat the palate. Despite the 12.5% abv, this is one sweet beer, filled with the flavor of bourbon. This was very hard to put down and see the empry glass.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber with a one finger tan head that leaves good lacing. Aroma of coconut, bourbon, caramel, sweet malt, dark fruit, and oak. Taste is the same as aroma with a touch of roasted malt. Medium mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and smooth alcohol. A damn fine brew.

Bottle, much thanks to wetherel. Pours an elegant dark ruby brown with huge tan head. I smell a little bit of bourbon before I lift the glass. Once I get my nose in there, I smell oak, cocoa powder, alcohol, brown sugar. The flavor is rich cocoa, vanilla, oak, char... oh wait, I’m describing bourbon. Behind all that bourbon is a thick caramel sweetness, with notes of honey, raisin, and dark fruits. The finish is chocolate, char, and ample alcohol burn. The base beer is amazing, but the bourbon is overstated and detracts from my enjoyment of the beer under it.

Pours out dark brown-black. Smells is sweet fruity bourbon. Taste is great, rich, roasty, creamy with some heat. Smooth but complex, very good.

12.7 oz bottle. A loud pop followed by slowly rising foam. Dark brown with a sustaining tan frosting. Nose is oak, maple and earthy brown sugar. Smooth and creamy turning light and vaporous in the mouth. Taste is a perfect melding of caramel, bourbon and barrel. Slightly dry, bitter grassy finish. Elegant and damn good.

Bottle: Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, oak, and malts. Too much bourbon in the nose. Poured dark brown in color with a small tan head. Cloudy. Sparkling. Flavor is medium sweet. Tastes of bourbon, malts, chocolate, oak, vanilla, and toffee. Medium body. Dry texture. Average to lively carbonation. Bourbon, vanilla, and oak dry finish.
