Bottle from ebay purchase, sampled with stegosaurus. WOW !! Thats really all I need too say. Brown perfect pout with long lasting 1 and a half finger head. Aromas of heavenly wood, bourbon, caramel, vanilla and alcohol. The taste was all these things but blended to absolute perfection. Possibly the best thing I have ever tasted. I sported a woodrow wilson and the cerimonial bottle hump was done.

2008 bottle rating #700. poured a cola color with a frothy foam head that crackled initially with the high carbonation. aroma has molasses, bourbon soaked barrel, vanilla, and dark dried fruit. rich and hearty. the first sip coats the mouth completely and the carbonation is quite high. flavor has plenty of bourbon, barrel wood, rich dark fruit, molasses sweetness, and some alcohol. I will say the 12.7 oz bottle size is just right and the bottle itself is cool, no need for a 750 of this. certainly rich with lots of complexity.

375mL bottle. Vanilla, char, chocolate, alcohol, dark alefruit in the aroma. Opaque brown-red, with a large rocky light brown head. Smokey vanilla and woody flavors, prominent spirit character. Dark alefruit, caramel, vineous notes. Some nuttiness and residual sweetness and whiskey in the finish. Mouthfeel is a medium heavy, somewhat hot.

bottle. Is it great? Yeah, its awesome. Is it better than the original? I’m not sure. It may be. Bottle exploded with carbonation. Full, rich mouthfeel. Touch of bourbon with caramel and vanilla. I love you, tomme.

2009 375 ml Bottle from Hophead22- Thanks again Tim! cork removed with a nice pop. Pours a dirty coca cola with some tiny tan bubbles on the edge of the glass. some mahagony shining threw. Carbonation seems just right to me. aroma is an awesome bourbon, very nice. vanilla, This beer is just fucking sweet. Flavor is more smooth silky bourbon, chocolate, some oak, vanilla, and figs. This was better than I expected with all the shit people are talking about this beer. Bourbon flavor is extremely smooth. nice sticky chewy mouthfeel. Some nice chest warming midway through the bottle. This beer is quite a treat. Utterly amazed at how smooth and drinkable this is for how much of a bourbon presence this beer has. This beer hit the spot.

Bottle from a friend. Pours a dark brown color with a big tan head that had good retention and plenty of lacing. The aroma is rich and complex with bourbon dominating the nose, other aromas of butterscotch, raisins and pecans fill in nicely. The flavor is similarly complex; the taste of good bourbon dominates with a host of supporting sensations--there is cloves, roasted barley, cola and pecans--all superbly balanced. The mouthfeel is full, smooth and creamy. The finish is long with a bit of lingering clove numbing my tongue. Overall: A great concoction. The balance of whiskey flavors to beer is superb, the bourbon is up-front but not overwhelming. Very nice.

12.7% bottling from Joey at SouthBay! My rating has gone down .3 since Ive had more time to think about this. Pours a very heavy and intimidating dark brown - liquid woodchips. Heady aroma of wood, chocolate and a very slight coconut balance. The palatte and flavor are very heavy, but I think my tasting partner bullseyed it when he said that it smells slightly better than it tastes: the heaviness of the flavor gives the beer such concentrated direction as to almost be... lacking in depth. Scotch, wood granules, massive roast and charcoal are what you feel and taste, but as much as this liquid oak is impressive, theres simply no room left for the beer, and this is why it couldnt hit higher scores for me. I told nbutler11 that I dont think I will ever be in the mood to drink this beer as I dont see myself spiralling into depression in the near future though the thought of having to finish even a 375 of this myself brings me close.
