On cask at the brewery. Aroma perks forth with suave, sleek grandeur enticing in so many fruits, rich nuttiness and bold gout-inducing richness. Sprightly. Out of the hand engine, the beer comes as a ruddy hued mahogany, clouded with a fine, silky smooth cream head in tobacco tinted cloud. Flavor is redolent with extravagent creamed malts, mature sugar density and a whole pantheon of nuts, fruits, chocolate, nips of tobacco and fragrant plums. Texture completely sublime, the cask presentation hightening the sickening drinkability of a beer so hefty. The bourbon smoothes corners, draws deep breaths of moist woodiness and clean nut-dry parching quality. More rounded and deep than the Brandy-barrel version and it shows. I really didn’t think this beer could get any better.

750ml bottle generously shared by bockyhorsey on a beautiful 80-85F day in phoenix. holy cork pop! dark brown-black body, huge choco-colored head, steady lacing. Wonderful nose of light oak and even some sawdust, light bourbon (really quite light, very nicely done), wonderful bwine underneath (haven’t even had my bottle of the regular AS yet). too bad an ounce or so gushed over onto the ground upon opening, so yummy! Thanks, Bill!

375ml, caged and corked. Pours a very dark brown/ black, hints of garnet. Aroma of sweetness. Oh, Candy! Dark fruit, vanilla, and that whiskey aroma that Bridgette lives for. Flavor is sweet, roasty, vanilla, some charcoal, lots of cherries, molasses, and heat. It has a big burn. As my buddy Seth said, "There are people who barrel age beer, then there are people who know how to barrel age a beer!" I feel more than lucky to have the Atl Crew to have shared this amazing bottle.

Thanks to TheCheeseMan! 2007 Bottle, Gold Lettering. The bottle was a gusher but I poured quickly and let it set for a while. The head was huge - large foamy off-white color that settles to a thin creamy off-white head with streams of lacing. Aroma is sweet, oak, brandy, brown sugar, vanilla, and dark fruit. Taste is amazingly smooth for being such high alcohol - caramel, vanilla, dark fruit. WOW!

Pure black color. Aroma is full of chocolate, vanilla, barley, raisins, and coconut. Taste is nothing short of amazing. You’d have to have it to honestly know what I’m talking about. Flavors include chocolate, vanilla, malts and barley, and dark dried fruit. Has a nice milk chocolaty and vanilla finish with a little bit of dried cherry. WOW!!! This is one amazing brew!

bottle, rating #800!!! This bottle came from beastiefan2k. Wow what an experience this beer is. A nice brown pour leads to the best smelling beer I have ever smelled. As three friends and I sipped this aromas were described as vanilla, bourbon, oak, pecan pie, raisins, prunes, molasses, and more. The flavr is just beautiful. Sweetness and touches of bourbon are married seamlessly. The vanilla, raisins and maple syrup come out wonderfully. An amazing beer.

one of the best tasting and complex brews in the world. recent issues with carbonation ,but a pinch of yeast and a bit more aging solves it.
