Aroma of sweet caramel toffee and oaky bourbon complexity with some doughy yeasty notes. Starts rich and dark caramely sweet with a touch of licorice and vanilla along with some milk chocolate toward a drier, complex, earthy finish. A pretty good bourbon-aged barleywine. leaparsons (4751), Leicester, Leicestershire, England

Smooth and rich with a very long aftertaste. Great. radiomgb (2068), Peterborough, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Apr 1, 2009 Near black in colour with a large and lingering beige head, excellent lacing. The aroma is of chocolate, alcohol, bourbon, oak, some butterscotch, wood and vanilla. The flavour has some light alcohol in it but it never overpowers anything, chocolate, some caramel, oak, quite smooth for the size of this. Warming mouthfeel, medium body, mild carbonation. Finishes long, sweet, warming with a light bitterness.
Wow, this is quite nice. Much better than the alcoholic mess of the regular Angels Share. Many layers of complexity.
375ml bottle obtained in a trade with TheCheeseMan, thanks Dan.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 7, 2008 High velocity uncorking with a spectacular eruption of foam, does,nt look good i thought to myself, hmm. Obviously the head was large and rocky, light brown in color, with good staying power. Surprisingly well carbonated for a BA brew. Lacing was nice, stringy and spotty at the same time, lasting. Appears as an opaque dark brown color, murky, not real inviting. The ashes were the first thing i noticed in the aroma, farly strong but enjoyable, different. Notes of dark fruits, hidden cedar with light earthy and dusty notes not to mention the mellow whisky notes. Full bodied, oily and slick on the palate with a low carbonation level. Gentle whisky flavors greet you backed by dark fruits, plum raisin, nice lumber, dry chewy malts, sorta bready, milk chocolate notes, vanilla, light smoke, cola, cedar notes too. Fruity and alcohol fueled, though gently, finish. Many thanks go out to oldstylecubfan for the bottle that was literaly LOST for a week or so, though no fault of his. Thanks so much Todd! Pours a thin, white dissipating head atop a brown copper body. Nose of burnt brown sugar, wood chips, molasses and soya sauce. Flavour of solid stout, sour cherries, iodine, toffee. Good. 8/4/8/4/17 Silphium (2152), Haslett, Michigan, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 29, 2009 Bottle via trade with toncatcher. Deep murky sediment-laden red-brown body, thick, puffy tan head. Nose of prune, soy, and molasses, salty and leathery, with hints of oxidation. Dark fruits (especially raisin and prune) and oak feature prominently in the rich, creamy body, which also features notes of soy and dusty oxidation. Vinous. A complex, rich beer with a dense flavor profile. Although this was a fine beer, I prefer the brandy barrel version. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA

The fruits here are of the exotic kind, not the ones that sold next to the apples but rather off to the side by themselves.
