Pours a slightly hazy amber with a small white head. Aroma is vinous with tart cherries, oak, caramel, and spicy brett. Taste is the same as aroma but more prominent. Medium thin mouthfeel with a mild amount of bitterness and a moderate amount of acidity. A damn fine brew. Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA

Very cool event. Finally popping this bad boy with some of the Tampa crew. Pours clear brown with copper hues and tiny off white head. The aroma is full of drool inducing ripe cherries and wood but preceded by some tartness that moves slowly into faint funk. All those notes are followed by a lingering soft cherry goodness at the end of the draw. Very nice complex nose that I can ponder for days. I also get growing smooth oaky wood notes with additional draws. The taste has rich ripe cherries along with some tart cherries moving into smooth oak wood notes and a mild growing tartness. By midway it becomes dry and refreshing. As the finish approaches wood and cherries escort your palate to the after taste with only a background of tartness and a front to back mild funkiness. Refreshing and just plain old yum. Wish I had one more to age further to see where this one goes. markwise (1200), 15 Minutes from Kuhnhenn in, Florida, USA

Aroma is acidic, berry, some sugar, cherry, and some bread. Flavor is sour cherry, acetic acid, a tiny (barely noticeable) must, a little bit of sweetness quickly wiped out by the jealous sour flavor. Lingering basalmic vinegar finish. Very good. sebletitje (1995), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours brownish with beige head.
Taste is lightly bitter, oak comes forward and remains faint but pleasant. Some dark fruits - cherry with a nice sour finish.
Sadly, my pour had too much of the residue to fully enjoy this beer. gunhaver (1043), Tampa, Florida, USA

Bottle #69, courtesy ibrew2or3, who personally handbottled this bad boy at the brewery in November 2007. Way to go Dave, you inspire us all. Pours a ruddy brown color, with a caramel reddish hazy and very little head, and no lacing, practically. Nose is tart cherries, some caramel, brown sugar, and a tint of chocolate. Flavor is sweet and sour. Caramel, cherries, some chocolate. Very woodsy and full of oak. Some flowery notes round out the flavor. Very yummy. Drinkability is very high as expected with these great Lost Abbey blends. Incredibly good overall. Very pleased to have tried this very rare treat. nightrider (383), encinitas, California, USA

Nice funky sour nose with a little light vinegar and oak, sour cherries, and a little bourbon. The flavor is plum and cherry fruit with light bourbon and oak, very soft subtle vinegar note. Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a nice balance between the dry funkiness and the sweet fruity stickiness. Nice soft gentle carbonation. Overall, a really nicely integrated blend of flavors. bsierra (213), Vista, California, USA
