daknole (2800), Plantation, Florida, USA Sep 29, 2009 Bottle. I found this to be a tad overrated. Not bad, but the 004 veritas kicked this one’s ass. Pours a brown color with a small head. Aroma has vinegar, sherry, cherries, wet wood, booze and some tart funky notes. Flavor reminds me of a rodenbach mixed with a la folie and some boozy notes added in. It was nice...but not spectacular IMO. ucusty (1865), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA Sep 28, 2009 Thanks to Sprinkle for sharing! Muddy brown pour with purplish hues. Fizzy off white head and no lace. Sherry and fruity aroma. Really compl;ex flavor profile. Sherry , oak, sour cherry, brett, gum and roast. Wow this stuff is good! yobdoog (1417), Woodridge NY, New York, USA Sep 1, 2009 Cloudy brownish color with no head. Aroma is sweet fruit, some sourness and some faint sherry. Flavor is more sour but still has a nice sweetness and dark sour fruit. A hint of brett dries out the finish and ends sour. TampaBrew (715), Tampa, Florida, USA Aug 30, 2009 Bottle @ WTF OMG! Poured a murky brown. Nose was candy sugar, mild sour, sour cherries, roasty grain, brett funk. Flavor was rich malt, mild sourness, lactic acid, barnyard, candy, bubblegum and big sour cherry. Beauty! Nuffield (2718), Roseville, Minnesota, USA Jul 31, 2009 Hazy, murky amber. Acidic sour ale, aggressive finish. Not fizzy. Smooth. Must aroma. Layers of fruit and sour. Interesting. Bottle shared at RBSG 2009 grand tasting. andersand (271), Malmö, Sweden Jul 27, 2009 Hazy brown with a small but dense light beige head that leaves some nice lazework on the wine glass used. Aroma is very interersting, original and inviting of fairly sour cherries, minty brightness, bubblegum and candy alongside various fruit and subtile funk. Flavour is similar but what strikes me as most impressing with this beer is it’s smoothness, crazy clean with a perfect amount of carbonation, full yet extremely slick and easy to drink, too easy to drink actually without ever being close to thin. A really nice brew that manages to bring together all sorts of fruit (both sour and sweet) into one well composed flavourbomb. JAXSON (229), Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Jul 26, 2009 Several bottles. Pours a clear read with a beige head. Was really curious what this would be all about given the interesting blend of beers involved. Really nice, smooth brett, some sour cherries, quite a bit of funk. Beautiful flavor. Lost Abbey can do an amazing job with sour beers. This thing is so smooth, it’s a dark sour like Consecration but better, even smoother than batch 2. It just has this awesomely-melded sour cherry and brett element without being overly heavy like the straight Cuvee. Amaing in that it manages to carry a hefty malt component, a graceful sour cherry, and a beautfully funked brett all in a light, fizzy package. Love this one, but if you have a bottle I think it should be drank soon as this might not get better with more time. SamGamgee (1394), Santa Cruz (La Selva), California, USA Jul 15, 2009 Bottle at the RBSG09 grand tasting thanks to Cquiroga. Opaque red-brown with a thick head. Bretty and sour aroma with lots of funk and lemon juice. Big, fruity, and sour flavor. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Dryer and more sour than I expected. Nice, but the brett and acidity seem to cover everything else up.
