Very nice aroma, sour funky some oak and interesting wood/earth notes. Muddy brownish color with a moderate off white lacing head. Taste is very complex, you can taste all parts of the blended beer, bourbon, oak, some funkiness, slight cherry with some acidic notes going on in there too little bit of alcohol. Wonderfully balanced, and much thanks to whoever brought this. Bockyhorsey (2528), Mesa, Arizona, USA

Yeast and wood stood out for aroma. Bourbon flavor was there along with a sweet tobbaco presence. Not as sweet as the Cuvee 08. The presence of bourbon and wood like the 05 Cuvee and the Angels share. Good blend of brews. SuperDave70 (1157), Beautiful Sunny Mesa, Arizona, USA

Cloudy deep brown pour with a creamy tan head. Big aromas of cherries, raisins, yeast, wood, and spice. Lots of flavor as well. Fruit, malt, yeast, chocolate, and vanilla. A bit of alcohol and funk on a sour finish. Wonderful! Beerlando (2319), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 4.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | May 29, 2008 Pours a dark, cloudy, reddish-brown color, almost bordering on plum hues. A large, foamy, tan colored head shows good retention, leaving jagged lines and spots of foam behind on the glass. The nose is about complex and inviting as they come. Notes of sour, woody oak are intertwined with cocoa, soft Kentucky bourbon, figs and sour cherries. The Cuvee funk and sourness permeates, but the Angel’s Share lends a calming caramel and vanilla sweetness, rounding the edges out considerably. The subtlety of the bourbon is perfect. Flavors are equally impressive. The cocoa really emerges amidst the caramel and sour brown notes. Powdered sugar and a touch of buttercreme are unexpected but welcomed complexities. Cherries and figs are as funky as they come, with a soft kiss of vanilla tying everything together beautifully. Medium-full bodied, with fine, moderate carbonation. The mouthfeel is creamy, almost velvety. Drinks like a dream. Luxurious in every sense of the word. This is a stunningly fantastic beer. VikingHammer (363), Lynnfield, Massachusetts, USA

Nose is sour lemons, cheese, funk, yeast and a touch of vinegar. Palate is sours cherries, lemons bourbon, a touch of aspirin all with a defined sugary malt background balancing all of the complex flavors into harmony. Medium mouth feel and decent lacing. My favorite of the night. Just an outstanding brew. Oakes (8092), gone rambling, Vietnam

Winey, woody nose with roast and lots of dark fruit. Very fizzy but very rich with dark fruits. Almost meaty. Very oaky, vinous and complex. Takes a while to absorb. badbeer (433), Iowa, USA

Smell of strawberries, acetic acid, oak, and yeast. Taste is sour with fruity flavors, cherries, cherry pits, and oak. Not overly sour, just pleasant sourness with a strong amount of malt backing it up. Light body and high carbonation. Good beer, thanks to pepsican for sharing.
