Pours a slight hazy light golden yellow similar to hazy lambic/castleton/isabelle look and that foamy head that turns fizzy and diminishes leaving some whispy cobwebby lace. Aroma is intensely funky- fruity tropical brett, like a very wild sour lambic and peaches/apricots are noticed in there as well - even reminded me a bit of Batch 1 cable car with its tic tac like orangey peach character. Flavor is peachy, lambic like with tons of brett funk and tropical pineapple from the gueze and yellow bus- overall tomme levels are a bit low and only the pitty astringency is picked up- good woody dryness compliments the harsh acidity and it turns out very smooth and drinkable. I loved it. Best Veritas by far! jarspag (597), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 4.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Bottle...the epic tasting in Mammoth continues, pretty ridiculous. With justin & mike. This stuff is off the hook... so well integrated. All the funk, acidity, fruits, oak, & citrus you could ever want. Just a beauty of a beer... a full blown belgian reproduction w/ a CA twist (fuller bodied than lambic). Dry and lasting. If you like sours, this is right up there. The best Veritas to date... Pours a cloudy golden color. Nose is fruity, sour, funky, grainy and everything else. Flavor is also fruity and sour, and very dry on the mouth. This is an exceptional brew. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Bottle at chris o’s teabag for 2009 tasting. Alround rating: Lots of barnyard, acidic lemon, very dusty yeast character, some old cellar, unfortunatly not clean and too much yeast. Needs about a 10th of the yeast. hopscotch (5476), Vero Beach, Florida, USA
| 4.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 4/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 3, 2009 Bottle... GSRARO Throwdown... This beer rocks!... Murky, light yellow ale with a mid-sized, creamy, white head. Good retention. The nose is a fantastic journey into everything sour, funky and fruity – cherries, tons of acidity, horse blanket, lemon and pale grains. Full-bodied with a creamy mouthfeel and lively carbonation. So fruity and citric; so acetic; so acidic; so tart; so dry; so very nice. Eye squintingly sour, drying finish. Big-time thanks to giarcsr for shipping this bottle all the way to Florida from Carlsbad, CA (a wonderful town, btw)! Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA

The nose is sour, lactic, citric and dusty. Puckering, light-bodied and sour with a tart, drying finish. Sour, citric and quite tart, it transitions to a drying finish. Quite nice. Thanks again for sharing this with us, Matt. :) doublea (16), , California, USA
| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 4/5 | 19/20 | Jan 31, 2009 One of my new favorites. Had it at Lost Abbey Barrel Night and am looking forward to trying it in the bottles I was lucky enough to pick up!
Knowing what goes into this beer allows the taster to really dissect it. I can taste the peaches and fruits of the Yellow Bus, the pungent tartness of the DDG, and a multitude of other flavors that are strong but compliment each other very, very well.
The head was light on my tasters, but I imagine the bottle conditioned version will have a bit more of a head. The color was gold and slightly orange in the poorly lit barrel room...The aroma and taste was loud with pineapple, peach; slightly sour with a surprisingly medium/full mouthful.
Incredibly good, and dangerously drinkable! My favorite of the night, and of LA to-date.

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 30, 2009 Graciously shared by mreusch, awesome, thanks. Color is a thick pale golden (cannot see through it). Has a thick bubbly head but it fades super quick, either way still looks good. (and as usual with LA, the pour gets very murky as you reach the bottom of the bottle). Aroma is tropical fruit, and fuzzy dryness (is this the Yellow Bus?). Its very fruit with a dry sweetness, I am guessing the Duck Duck Goze is taking over but just mainly funk with essence of sour skins. Taste is much nicer with a lot more vinegar-like sourness coming through, with a lot more gueze-like characteristics. It has a drying, very lemony feel. Again, its very drying, long tartness and a stingy mouthfeel that lasts into the finish. I was very impressed, which is hard to say for LA but they are able to turn out a winner every now and then (despite all the hype with every beer they make). Fortunately, not too much of the CdT coming through here. 750mL cork and wire in a Cantillon copita glass.
