Aromas of tart sour apricots, some peach, and other funky fruits. Flavor is super sour and super good. Lots of carbonation. Very good. Thank you Dennis.
awaisanen (1143), Irvine, California, USA Sep 4, 2008 From a 750mL Bottle. RBSG 2008. Mostly transparent, straw gold colored pour with a thin layer of white head. Lots of musky brett in the nose, accompanied by notes of tart peach skins and fruity pear flesh. Mildly acetic with hints of acetone. Pleasant interplay between old, funky brett and bright tartness of the peaches. Medium light bodied, moderately carbonated mouthfeel with a bold acidity. Mildly acetic, with an outstanding peach flesh flavor. Hints of peach juice sweetness, but also plenty of skin characters. Tart and woody, which combine with a restrained alcohol presence to create a warming peppery finish. Great beer overall, and certainly one to consider producing regularly. I wish I had a case. maniac (1976), Richmond, Virginia, USA Aug 31, 2008 From bottle at Lost Abbey before RBSG on 08/02/2008. Clear golden amber body with a small white head. Fruity sour aroma. Prominant peach flavor, light sour. Medium body with moderately high carbonation. Ungstrup (11164), Frederiksberg, Denmark Aug 27, 2008 This presently top-50 beer is entered to celebrate my 1900th US rating. Bottled at RBSG 2008. A hazy golden beer with a white head. The aroma is acidic with notes of malt, citrus, wood, and brettanomyces. The flavor is acidic with quite strong notes of wood and brettanomyces, with a tart finish. Very nice. DA (2425), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Aug 18, 2008 RBSG 2008. Pours gold, medium cloudiness with a small white head. Tart peach nose, funky and delicious. Earthy and some lemon notes. This really came together well, the fresh juicy peach flavors and the spicy estery finish just played off each other really well. JMFG (1140), Florida, USA Aug 18, 2008 Sampled at RBSG. Slightly cloudy golden color with a thin, even layer of white foam. The aroma has a nice sharp acetic funk that is calmed by the presence of the fruity sweetness of peach flesh. The combination of sweet and sharp works great. Taste has moderate acidity, the peach presence a little less apparent, but still there. Slight musky notes add a welcome balance to the sweet characters. The use of peaches here is executed brilliantly. I keep trying to look for reasons to not give this such a high score, but I can’t find any.
