Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

Good flavor, a little weak and not as creamy as expected. Roasted malt and bitter coffee taste, slightly dry. Some hops in the finish, but very briefly. Highly drinkable, but a little too light bodied for a stout. I am not too excited about the bittersweet charcoal flavor in this one.

Did Lost Coast just take a really great keg of stout and add a gallon of water to it? Need I say...watered down flavor, but decent I guess. It doesn’t even have strong aromas. At least it doesn’t ’look’ watered down :-)

Pretty damn good stout. Sweet - as the name would suggest. Think chocolate and charcoal - this one has notes of both. Creamy texture, foamy head - pours black with beige head. Nose is chocolate and carbon. Lots of sugaryness in the flavor. Definitely has a slight flavor of smoke in the background.

12 oz. bottle courtesy of daknole. Pours a dark brown color with a small beige head. The aroma is roasted malts, coffee, semi sweet chocolate and a touch of molasses. The flavor is heavy on the roasted malts, coffee, and semi sweet chocolate. It is not as sweet as I might expect with it being in this category, but isjust a very solid stout. It does have a certain creaminess to it in the beginning, but has a drier satisfying finish with a hint of bitterness. Medium to full bodied and easy to drink. With the lighter ABV, this could almost qualify as a session beer.

Pours a deep rich brown with thin white head. Aroma is of rich chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Taste is deep chocolate, coffee, notes of dark fruit. Light carboation and full bodied, this is an excellent stout.

Pours pitch black with a medium mocha head. Aroma is dark roasts, chocolate, and bitter coffee. Taste is about the same.....very rich and roasty. Tastes a lot like St. Ambroise Stout to me. Very balanced stout!

12 oz bottle. Pours opaque pitch black with 2 cm tan foamy head that is mostly diminishing. Aroma of sweet fruit and coffee mostly. Initial flavor is malty and fruity, turning to dry bitter chocolate with a hint of coffee and oats. Moderate aftertaste. Light lacing, light carbonation, light on alcohol, and medium, creamy body. Overall, a pretty decent beer and a great choice if you like a tasty, creamy stout.

(22 oz. bottle via trade with IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) Tasty...Pours very dark brown with four fingers of tan head. Rich iniviting aroma of sweet dark chocolate, coffee, molasses, roastiness and fruit. Mouthfeel smooth and lightly oily - a touch watery however. Just a few dabs of lacing here and there. Flavor of sweet dark chocolate and coffee roast along with a sweet fruitiness that almost becomes grapey as it warms. Molasses emerges as it warms. Light-medium bitterness on back end. Only a slight hint of grassiness in finish on a few tastes. A good one. I’ll bet on tap this would be a monster!
