Taste is the same as the smell plus more of the maltiness coming through. Good body. CapnCascade (116), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Pours black, hint of ruby when held up to the light, brownish head with minimal retention. Sweet and bitter chocolate, dark coffee, and hints of gingerbread, curry spice and anise on the nose. Flavor has a mild hop presence that provides some light bitterness and a slight edge to a sweet, roasty finish. Fairly creamy mouthfeel, low carbonation. I’m going to get my hands on more of this stuff for sure. BMan1113VR (2894), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jun 3, 2008 Pours with a small, foamy, brown head covering a near black body. Aroma of toasted and roasted coffee malts, bitter sweet chocolate and some lightly spicey hops. Taste is very much dry coffee, nothing else, not too sweet or bitter. Syrupy mouthfeel, low levels of carbonation. IlanMan (820), Appleton, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 2, 2008 Pour is dark with a short creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt and a hint of chocolate. Body is medium to full with a flavor of sweet malt, dark roasted barley, just a little chocolate, and a slightly bitter finish. Very well balanced stout. Creamy mouth feel. Goes down very well. I had low expectations for this because I had never heard of it but was pleasantly surprised with the taste. Good brew. Would buy again. leninthedesert (112), Nevada, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jun 1, 2008 Great offering from Lost Coast - roasted malts (like coffee) - decent hop balance, and creamy finish nonetheless... Sparky27 (1596), Phoenix, Arizona, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | May 30, 2008 Bomber. Pours dark brown with a one finger thick tan head. Nose is roasty malt with mild chocolate and coffee. Flavor is much the same with a bit of hops in the finish. Light creamy mouth feel with spotty lacing. Not bad. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 28, 2008 Pours a deep, dark amber with a good-sized tan head with poor retention. Lovely, pungent molasses & dark malt aroma, very nice! Sweet coffee taste, milky and delicious with a hint of bitterness & alcohol in the finish (warms as it finishes!) Good carb and a nice creamy body - I like this beer! Probably one of the nicest sweet stouts I’ve had. Best milk stout for sure. Thanks to TheCheeseMan for the trade! | 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 25, 2008 Poured deep black with a one finger head that dissipated quickly with little lacing. Great aromas of coffee, really espresso, chocolate. All of the same plus roasted malts and a background of dark fruits in the taste made this a really enjoyable drink. Creamy texture, light carbonation, aftertaste that was cleaner and drier than expected.
