A nice tan head that remains throughout the drink but no real lacing which is odd for a stout. The smell is strong roasted and all malt. Maybe some slight chocolate tones but really nothing exceptional. The malt flavor is dominate but not overpowering with a nice smoothness to it. More of a chocolate or coco flavor. Although there was a smoothness to the drink it was similar to say a milk stout but without that lactate flavor to it. If looking you can find hits of mellow hop flavors. Maybe for citrusy and a American feel to it. Easy to drink and has a full body to it. If nit picking, I would like to say that I would prefer more of a robust character, but for its style. cgarvieuk (4212), Edinburgh, Scotland

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Mar 13, 2008 Not quite as good as I hoped for. Don’t really get the "sweet" part of this, tastes like a solid stout. Pours black, very complex aroma. Slight cinnamon and roasted barley...smells almost like pancakes (weird). Flavor is very smooth, with lots of roast, a hint of coffee, slight chocolate and connamon. Malty aftertaste, slightly bitter. PilsnerPeter (2667), Flushing, New York, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 12, 2008 Bottle: A near black pour is topped by a creamy brown head. Nose is rich with roasted and chocolate notes as well as licorice. Inviting aroma. The texture is silky and has a mild & creamy carbonation. Outstanding malt character. Richly roasted with a nice dark chocolate depth and creamy coffee character. The finish is slightly charred, bitter and a hint of licorice. Creamy, tasty and balanced. A great Stout! rlgk (3378), Vårgårda, Sweden

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Mar 3, 2008 Bottle. Aroma is milk chocolate, coffee. Flavor is roasted malts, chocolate, and coffee. Extremely smooth and a nice change of pace from all the imperial stouts that I’ve been consuming lately.
