It smells like a mix of dark chocolate and coffee. Taste is slightly dry with a rich mocha flavor. This happens to be my favorite, available session stout Angeloregon (2033), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Dec 7, 2007 Pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of mild malts and unbalanced booziness. Watery, weak mouth feel and finish for the style. Not very exciting. Skeegle (499), Maryland, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 3, 2007 Excellent. Uber roasted aroma, body tastes heavily of toffee and chocolate. Very sweet beer with a nice mouth presence. GG (1670), NorCal, California, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 28, 2007 Not a bad stout at all. You can find this in most grocery stores throughout California so the availability factor is off the charts. A nice aroma mocha, sweet with a touch of molasses. Appearance is nice but I barely got the foamy head even with an agressive pour. Mouthfeel is slightly thick and smooth. Flavors are nice enough with notes of coffee, light chocolate, maybe some molasses but it all seemed rather uninspired. Maybe even boring. Still, it’s nice enough to drink again. There are plenty of other beers to hit up before having to resort to this beer again though. Ughsmash (4076), Waukesha, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 27, 2007 Bottled. Poured clear darker brown with a shrot cap of medium brown head. The aroma picked up sweet, milky chocolates and rolled oats.. medium-roasted.. sweet and very enjoyable. The flavor found sweeter roasty chocolates and a bit of coffee bitterness.. some herbal notes present on the long chocolatey finish. Medium-bodied and sweet overall with a nice level of roast and it was well-balanced.. lightly warm finish. Good one! T2Tool (352), Murfreesboro, Tennessee, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 24, 2007 From a bottle into an oversized wine glass, the appearance was pitch black. It had a roasted aroma of chocolate and coffee. A very well-balanced taste. It was very drinkable. The roasted malt, chocolate and oatmeal came through with a faint hop background. Definately a good example of a drinkable stout. alobar (1041), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA
