| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Jul 31, 2007 Pours a river of obsidian black into the glass with a rising dense dark tan head and full curtains of lacing. Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, bittersweet chocolate and a hint of smoke. The flavor paralells the aroma with coffee and rich chocolate up front but with some dark fruits adding some sweetness and complexity. Texture is creamy and there’s a nice bitter hoppy kick in the finish. There is a great hoppy undertone of oranges and flowers. This was definitely one of the best stouts i’ve had. It is not overly sweet or bitter, and there use of hops really adds a great layer of complexity. tangentrider (144), USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jul 4, 2007 bottle. nice looking dark black stout that collects a brown head that slips away quickly. softly sweet smell with hints of roast and chocolate. nice full body with a taste that is solid the whole way through. fruity plums match with bitter chocolate and roasted malt while a slightly sharp carbonation and tingly hops balance every aspect of the malt character. awsome stuff.
