| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 26, 2007 Pours pitch black with a thin bubbly light brown head. The taste is very roasty, some coffee, dark malts, chocolate, and just a flutter of some hops. The taste is big on the roast and is medium bodied. It has a good dose of chocolate and coffee in the finish. The aftertaste is mostly roast, the mouthfeel is medium to full. Good session stout. very easy drinking and enjoyable. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 15, 2007 This had a good burnt malt aroma.average head.Color a nice black.I was a bit disappointed in the taste.Itr was good, but not great.Had an underlining bitter and sour taste.Coffee, burntness, and generally a stout taste,EXCEPT where was the chocolate??I think a great stout should have that chocolate taste and be sticky on the palate. nearbeer (1880), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2007 Bottle. Medium-sized head that lasts. Aroma is mild dry coffee with some cocoa and grassy hops. Flavor is very mild, and mostly the same as the aroma, maybe a hint of smoke also. Palate is dry, very smooth and slightly watery - maybe just a tad more than medium-bodied. ChainGangGuy (2616), Kennesaw, Georgia, USA
