Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

Bottle. Pours a flat black with a frothy, light brown head. Aroma predominantly a heavy roasted coffee with chocolate and molasses notes. Slick, soft, and creamy palate with a slightly bitter finish. Nice malty aftertaste. I liked this one.

Poured nice and black with a khaki head. Had some roasted choclate aroma. Can taste the hops with a smooth palate. Nice example of a stout

Bottle. This stout poured so amazingly black that no light comes through at all much like a cola. A dark brown medium head tops off this beer. The aroma was heavy on the bitter chocolate and reminded me of grape juice. Strangely this sweet grape juice smell carries over in the flavor much like welches grape juice but also with hints of chocolate. A long bitter hop aftertaste. Not too bad... but that grape flavor was a bit strange for sure.

This is a smooth, great tasting stout beer. Great body, Awesome initial flavor..with a perfect finish and just enough carbonation. Seriously one of the best stouts I’ve had in a long time.

12oz bottle. Pours black with a small foamy brown head. Aroma is sweet and malty but mild. Flavor is heavy chocolate. Quite creamy. Nice mouthfeel. This is good.

4/16/2007: fleeting dark beige foamy head Ebony with ruby tones. Aroma: Roasted malts and chocolate notes. Flavor: Dry and roasty. Coffee, dark chocolate; semi-sweet chocolate finish. Hint of cola or anise in the middle. Warmer temps: root beer in finish? Medium body. a bit too much carbonation for my taste (for the style). 22 oz bottle via trade with kenb (Oct/Nov 2006). Thanks Ken!

22oz. bomber I picked up at BevMo. Nice roasted wood and chocoloate aroma and a marble black appearance with a small light brown head. Slight coffee taste, that ends pretty sugary. I was very satisfied with the palate, silky and smooth ending, minimal dryness which I like in a stout.
