Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

light tan hea with a black body. nose is slightly malty but not overwelmingly fragrant. like most oatmeal stouts the flavors are subtle but nice. a malty stout with some oatmeal flavors, a little understated for my taste, but not bad at all

One of the very best of the West Coast stouts. Incomparable! (This website attempted to force me to use more words to describe this beer, but why bother? Every other review describes it.)

Pours a rich dark black with a sticky brown head. Aroma is roasted barlry, chocolate, coffee. Very rich flavor of roasted coffee with chocolate notes and a surprisingly hoppy finish. Overall a excellent stout.

Bottle. Black color, aroma of roasted coffee malt and not much else. Sweet, smooth malt taste with some coffee, a little milk. Overall a pretty uncomplex beer but nice to drink.

12 oz. bottle - a solid stout; nothing really stands out though; seemed a little thin for a stout

bomber - Pours up almost black with a big tan head. It has the expected roast malt aroma, though not much else going on. The flavor is a straightforward dark roast malt I’d expect from a stout with some mild chocolate notes. This medium bodied beer seemed a little lacking to me though, especially given the strong reviews here. Maybe I had a bad bottle? It seems pretty average.

Bottle. Underrated brewer??? Pours jet black with an ever-so-slight amber highlight. Roasted nut aroma, with hints of chocolate and butter. Rich, flowing roasted malt with chocolate, smoke, and red wine in the finish. Full and coating mouthfeel. Fantastic! Yet another great brew from this brewer.

Dark brown with a nice sized tan head. Very nice aroma of roasted malts, cholocate and mild coffee. Flavor was bitter hops with nice malts and light coffee. A little sour in the finish. Body was a little thin also. Not bad.
