Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

It’s good to know that malts are roasted like coffee beans. 12oz, no date. Aroma of coffee, charred wood, roasted malts, light pine and spiced hops. Pours a dark ruby mahogany with a dissipating tan head. Has the creamy smoothness of an oatmeal, though the taste isn’t there. The taste is much the same, with roasty malts being the dominant flavor. The creamyness could be a bit better, as the beer is just a little thin. Never gets too sweet, but definitely doesn’t get too bitter. I don’t know how this pulls a 3.86 averge. It is by no means bad, but I was just expecting quite a bit more.

A very good Stout. Nice chocolate, carmel, coffee and roasted malt flavors combine with a good thick head with lace down the glass to give a very drinkable beer. Great with steak or hearty pasta dishes.

A dark dark brown pour with a tan head. An aroma of toasted malt. A flavor of almost sweet chocoffee, one of my favorite flavors. Not as much hops as I expected but a nicely balanced beer. A nice full bodied beer as well no wateriness or fizzing. I like this beer.

I was expecting more from this than what I got, although it wasn’t bad. Poured the usual black color with a nice chocolate initial head that didn’t stick around long. Aroma was mostly roasted coffee, some slight chocolate. The flavor followed suit, displaying roasts and coffee the most and light chocolate underneath. Very slight touch of fruitiness after warming (a little cherry?) along with some lactic aspects, yet this just wasn’t complex. It seemed like a poor man’s St. Ambroise. Mouthfeel was moderate and full, yet not sticky.

12 oz bottle. Very dark brown..thin tan head. Aroma of roasted malts & cocoa powder..but fairly faint. Coffee, oatmeal, and heavy roasted malt flavor. Good finishing hop bitterness. Medium-bodied, somewhat oily mouthfeel.. Certainly not jawdropping in my book, but it’s a decent stout overall.

22 oz bottle. Little head or lace. Color is almost black. Aroma of roasted chocolate, coffee, raisins. Flavor is the same with a bittersweet and sour finsih, mostly bitter. A bit too much roastiness in the aftertaste. Seems more like a Stout than a sweet stout as it isn’t very sweet, and i think it is actually a bit burnt and a bit too hoppy for a sweet stout...ahh gotta love the the West Coast, even a sweet stout is very hoppy, lol...

Nose shows coffe, toasty malts, and chocolate; hazy dark brown with a small tan head; Flavor shows some hop bitterness, mixed with coffee and chocolate; finish is hoppy.
