| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Jan 15, 2006 Pours a watery black with a tan head that fizzles out a little too quikly for a stout. Nose is roasted barley with a few bold notes of coffee and hops. Flavor is like stout "lite". An easy drink, fairly decent. magicbill (19), Indiana, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Jan 14, 2006 Smokey, rich, full bodied with heavy chocolate and coffee taste and aroma. Deep brown/black color with beige head. I had it from a bomber and would like to taste it from a tap. Rockinout (946), Kent, Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 11, 2006 2005 bottle. So creamy and smooth, goes down easy. Roasty chocolate, a little sweet, somewhat of a grainy dry finish. Picked up in Wilmington, NC while vacationing. Tubbfan (144), Joliet, Illinois, USA
| 1.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/20 | Jan 6, 2006 I’m immediately struck by the deep black color! Multi-sized brown head which quickly disperses. Lacing is good throughout the draw. Despite the good appearence, I was disappointed by the palate. Yes, there is a low hop and smooth malt flavor with a hint of chocolate, but the palate is dominated by carbonation first and foremost followed a distant second by the flavor. Very weak bodied. Too weak to be drinkable. Bitter hops dominate the aftertaste. What a disappointment! harlequinn (2745), Tacoma, Washington, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jan 3, 2006 This is a big in your face stout, perfectly balanced and crafted to be rich roasty and creamy. Chocolate, rich espresso and just a bit of cocoa. Just enough sweetness to be enjoyable. mds (2112), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Dec 27, 2005 bottle. pours a deep black body with a large frothy mocha head. the aroma mainly consists of bitter chocolate and dry assertive coffee roast. the balance is very well done - full marriage of rich billowing chocolate and dry bitter coffee, which is especially evident in the finish. very smooth and creamy. very tasty. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 21, 2005 Poured an opaque black with a dark head. Aroma of chocolate and molasses and some roasted malts. Flavor is much the same, with a little coffee showing through as well. The bitter finish of these stouts is a different type of bitter, and one that I dont quite like. This is a good one, but I dont think I’ve aquired a taste for beer this dark just yet. rederic (1811), montréal, Quebec, Canada
