Commercial Description:
Not for the faint hearted! Our stout rewards the palate with robust flavor of roasted malts (malts are roasted like coffee beans) and heavy hops. A creamy smooth surprise.

Purchased a six pack at Lee’s Liquor in Las Vegas. Pour is black but not opaque. Creamy tan head. Blunt chocolate note with some faint hops. Slight roast. This is a well made stout and very good example of the style. Impressive.

Bottle (in NZ). The nose just hints at roasted malt along with a hint of milk chocolate. However, offers much more, the big roasty dryness nicely balancing the sweetness from the malt; which has less of that chocolate and more of a licorice flavour. The astringent finish stayed with me for some time. I enjoyed this.

(Bottle, Monk’s Café, Wallingatan, Stockholm, 10 Dec 2009) Black colour with frothy, beige head. Roasted, malty, slightly fruity nose with notes of blueberries, milky chocolate and roasted grain. Malty, roasted taste with chocolate, soft hints of roasted malt and a smooth chocolatey finish with hints of ashes. Medium body, mainly dry. Nice, tasty and well balanced.

Bottle date is 09/09/09. Pours very dark, light brown head, mostly diminishing. The aroma is coffee, toffee, roasted grain. The taste/palate is creamy, roasted grain/coffee taste, bitter. Not bad

Dark blackish with a bit of brown head, and a mild but standard aroma. Taste is dilute, like a mildly roasty stout mixed with club soda.

Pours thin and brown with a tan head. Lots of floatables in this one. The aroma is of chocolate, coffee and lactose. The flavor is strong black coffee and a bit acidic. A little bit of chocolate and licorice. It has a mild roasted, ashy finish. Tasty.

From bottle. Aroma is rich and earthy. Appearance is deep brown with a thin tan head. Taste is woody, coffee is apparent but not overpowering. Smooth but not lingering. Overall, a very decent stout.
