Great body, Awesome initial flavor..with a perfect finish and just enough carbonation.
Seriously one of the best stouts I’ve had in a long time. jriggenbach (9), Houston, Texas, USA does not count | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 10/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 19/20 | Feb 23, 2007 One of the very best of the West Coast stouts. Incomparable! (This website attempted to force me to use more words to describe this beer, but why bother? Every other review describes it.) What a mouth full. This would be good over ice cream. Well balanced. Not too dry or too sweet. Perfect for a cold rainy nght in front of the fire place. fnah93 (1), USA does not count | 4.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 10/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | May 31, 2005 I’ve never tasted anything quite like this. As near perfect as anyting I’ve tasted. Strong coffee malts, creamy-smooth perfection. blackmurder (164), sadf, Hawaii, USA

Pours dark black with a thin head that is typical of a stout. Robust aroma of coffee, vanilla, toffee, and roasted malts. The taste is what does it for me though. It is just so smooth and almost sweet with a complex flavor for an oatmeal stout. Brown sugar, vanilla, coffee, and chocolate. A great stout and my all time most purchased beer. Roasted malts give way to a silky hoppy bitterness that rounds out the malty sweetness. Alwasys a standard. I would honestly say that this beer frequently pees all over many imperials I have tried. loweredsixth (942), Fresno, California, USA

Nice light brown head...medium carbonation. At first, the aroma is filled with some wonderful smokey roasted tones. As it warmed, the aroma lost most of it's smokiness and took on more of a sweet chocolate character. The flavor changed much like the aroma did...from smokey and roasted to sweet chocolate. Slight bitterness in the finish, but none elsewhere in the flavor. This is a well-crafted stout with many complexities that unfold throughout the drinking experience. I enjoy taking my time drinking this beer to appreciate all it has to offer. adrenalin112 (57), west covina, California, USA
