Commercial Description:
A full-flavored amber ale made with roasted caramel malt. Richly colored and medium-bodied, Alleycat is an assertive blend of malts with a sprightly cascade of hops.

pours out am amber color with a small tan head. aroma is sweet and slightly malty. Flavor was rather hoppy to my suprise and a pleasant one at that. over all this was a decent amber. much better than i expected.

Bottle. Nose is pine/musk hops with a bit of citrus, not a lot of depth. Opaque and cloudy amber/orange body with slow rising carbonation to a small, almost nonexistent head. Mild bitterness, pretty well balanced and drinkable but not particularly noteworthy. Leaves something to be desired but is nonetheless a drinkable amber.

Bottle. Lost Coast has been earning my respect, and I was really looking forward to revisiting this one. Yeah, it’s all right. It’s a decent amber color. Yeah, there’s caramel and biscuits with a hint of grapefruit. I was expecting something a bit hoppier from them. This is a malt heavy amber with bready, biscuity flavors dominating and a reasonable hop nip to round out things. It’s a medium bodied ale and a fair session brew.

Another good one from Lost Coast. Caramelly flavor with a good amount of malt to add into the mix. Hops in the aftertaste which is a welcome addition.

Bottle from Broudy’s St Augustine, FL. Poured a clear dark copper with a moderate frothy off-white head that diminished slowly with good lacing. Moderate balanced sweet malt and tart citrus aroma. Medium body. Medium bittersweet flavor with a medium sweetbitter finish of average duration.

From a 12 oz. bottle--Sticky brown amber body. Hazed with an off-white two-finger head. Malty sweet with prominent hops presence. Nice beer.

Bottle poured into pint glass. Nice hazy copper colour with a thin, tan film on top with nice lacing. Aroma is mostly hop but the flavour blanaces out hop and malt with a nice, almost sweet finish. Great amber, real step up from most offerings.

Pours copper with thin head and mild carbonation. Aroma is mild and of roasted malt. Flavor is bursting with caramel and roasted grains. A little on the sweet side but also a little on the bitterside. These two contrasting flavors seem to fight each other and don’t blend very well. I like the beer for its full flavor but the flavors just don’t blend well. Nice round palate. Could be better.
