Commercial Description:
A full-flavored amber ale made with roasted caramel malt. Richly colored and medium-bodied, Alleycat is an assertive blend of malts with a sprightly cascade of hops.

Amber pour, quickly receding white head. Nutty aroma with some citrus and floral hops. Medium-bodied, very active carbonation and the hops really tingle. Most of the malt is washed out by the hops, but there is some nuttiness and caramel. Bitter finish. Quick. This is really good for an amber.

Light grainy nose, amber color, low tight head. Light toasted malt body, spicy hop finish. Watery body. Good for someone starting out with something other than a light beer. Not so thrilling overall though.

Poured an effervescent amber with a fizzy off-white head. Aroma of some sweet caramel, brown sugar, and a bit of citrus floral hops. Flavor is well balanced between lightly sweet caramel and toffee and some bitter piney floral hops. Lightly bitter finish, mostly clean. Easy-drinking, rather light in body and flavor but agreeable.

Deep amber/red body. Two finger creamy head, good retention and moderate lacing. Great aroma for this style: nutty toffee malts, eharty notes of citrusy hops, mostly grapefruit and orange, caramel in reserved quantities and lightly toasted grains. Overall a balanced and pleasant nose. Flavor is similar, with moderate bitterness, light toast and caramel sweetness and pleasant hop tastes. Flavor is balanced as well, are is the mouthfeel and finish, for the most part. Palate is light-medium to medium bodied, simple and smooth. This is a very well made amber, a good recipe. Simple and drinkable.

12oz bottle-pours a fizzy diminishing light tan head and amber color with effervescence. Aroma is medium/light malt-caramel. Taste is initially medium/light malt-sweet caramel, then a drying/floral hops flatness, metallic. Not quite balanced. Good effervescence.

12 oz bottle. Pours a chill hazed orange with no head. Dissapointing aroma because there is none. You can pick up hints of carmel and pine. Flavor is better. Nice carmel malt sweetness, nice mild hoppiness, with some subtle earthtones. Light mouthfeel on the finish. Not bad not good, somewhat forgettable.

Pours a solid looking brew. Caramel brown allows light but isn’t transparent; has texture. The head is creamy, medium thickness, and overall surprising. the aroma is slightly sweet, some hoppyness, caramel, pine. The flavor is fairly hoppy, noticeable sweet malt backbone, some dry fruit and pine. Overall, a really solid beer. I think it deserves above a 3.27 but it isn’t exceptional enough I suppose.
