Commercial Description:
A full-flavored amber ale made with roasted caramel malt. Richly colored and medium-bodied, Alleycat is an assertive blend of malts with a sprightly cascade of hops.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Jerc, and Mds, Harry’s bottle. Nice fiery orange, decent white head. Nice soft hops in aroma. Taste is decent - soft malt, soft hops. Standard American Amber ale, but tasty.

On Tap: Pours a deep copper color, little to no head. Aroma is mild, but nice with malts. (granted it was served far too cold so aroma and taste was a little hard to fully enjoy/gather) Flavor is caramel, bread dough, sweet malts.

Hazy amber color with multi color head. It was off white with some brown mixed in. A first for me. Initially very nice fresh caramel aroma. About as caramelly as I’ve experienced. There is also a hint of bready yeast. Pleasant enough taste. Sweet, a bit watery, caramel and toffee notes. A mild lingering bitterness in the finish. I also detect a slight bready and buttery-ness that adds rather than detracts from the taste profile. OK amber. Not nearly my favorite

The 12 ounce bottle poured a slightly hazy, dark amber beverage with a small creamy white head that was mostly diminishing and left some lacing on the glass. The aroma struck a nice balance between the malt and hops. There were notes of caramel malts and floral hops. The body was medium-full with lively carbonation and a soft, smooth texture. The flavor started off slightly fruity and sweet. As it matured, the finish took on more bitterness and there was a decided alcohol warmth as well.

Overall a pretty good amber ale. Maltiness really sticks throughout the beer. Lost Coast pretty solid brewer, although prefered the dowtown brown. Malts turn into hints of hoppiness at end of the palate. Amber in color of course, with what I found to be a little haziness. Other than that found it to be lackluster, expected a little bit more.

Nice medium bodies amber. I like most of the Lost Coast offerings and this is one of the better ones. Not a lot of carbonation and just a little hoppy on the aftertaste.

Pours a slightly hazed, deep amber body with a creamy off-white head. The aroma is caramel, some juicy fruits, and a surprising helping of citric and floral hops. The flavor’s a well blended mix of caramel sweetness and hop bitterness, the latter winning out in the finish. A decent session ale.
