The aroma is caramel, some juicy fruits, and a surprising helping of citric and floral hops. The flavor’s a well blended mix of caramel sweetness and hop bitterness, the latter winning out in the finish. A decent session ale.

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Apr 30, 2006 Amber but tinted red. Fading unimpressive head. Rough carbonation. Inviting aroma, if mild. A warming caramelized-molasses notes, with an nice citric hop in the background, but very mildly stated. Pretty bland, with only a mild touch of sweeter malts up front, leading into a plain, balanced finish. This pretty much epitomizes what makes the standard micro amber ale such a boring and forgettable beer. Still, it is well put together and is pretty drinkable, save for the rough bubbles. warriorx99 (85), USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 4/5 | 9/20 | Mar 12, 2006 Bottle. Aroma is somewhat fruity and spicy. This is a medium bodied ale, but with surpringly little taste with a slight sweetness that lingers for just a moment. I wouldn’t call Alleycat at all memorable. madcow75 (425), Sun Prairie, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 1, 2006 Bottle. Pours amber with a red tint. Head is beige, thick and fluffy to start, reduces to thin. Aroma is spicy, sweet, some fruit, candy and tabacco leaves. Taste is sweet and fruity up front, a slight hop presence. Malts, caramel, nuts come in at the end. Everything is muted except for the spice which stays on my tongue for a while. Finishes smooth, malty and watery. Mouthfeel is spicey and watery. I’m not a huge fan of ambers, but this is decent and drinkable aspidites (1274), manteca, California, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 11/20 | Feb 15, 2006 Nuts, caramel and pine nose with nice body and depth and with only a soft iced tea crytal malt profile. Good conditioning and full mouthfeel with a soft citrus and toffee finish. frylock (1026), Buffalo, New York, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Feb 3, 2006 Amber color with a small off-white head. Caramel malts and some light fruit and honey in the aroma. Some toffee and toasty malts backed by moderately bitter hops with a light lemon note. Nothing to write home about. | 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Jan 26, 2006 This poured a dark copper color. A faint aroma of notably caramel and grapefruit. Some slight citrus showing in the flavor mainly grapefruit and oranges. A slight nutty character to it, similar to myself. The body is a little bit thin on this one. Nothing amazing but about what you would expect for an Amber. heemer77 (4311), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jan 16, 2006 Dark amber color with a light khaki head. The aroma is oranges and caramel. There are also some almonds. This is a decently hopped amber. The taste has iced tea with some oranges. The finsih is a little tart and dry. This is much milder than I would have thought from the aroma. A decent amber.
