Mar 7, 2005 I’m not a big amber drinker anyway, but this didn’t impress me nearly as much as other Lost Coast beers have. Their Indica is really solid, but this was just a pretty standard amber. Malty, sweet, and uneventful.

Feb 27, 2005 Pours bright and clear amber-copper color with a nice foamy off white head that leaves some lace in the glass, malty caramel aroma, sweet malty nutty flavors, medium bodied with a soft and creamy mouthfeel. It does finish with a nice and clean dryness, a very tasty amber ale.

Feb 18, 2005 Poured a nice red amber with a smallish head and lacing.
Nice light aroma of hops and citrus.
Flavor is great, light hops,malt and citrus flavors make this a very easy drinking and refreshing beer.

Feb 3, 2005 Butter/malt nose. Butterscotch flavor, some malt in the finish. That butter lingers. If I tried this in a blind taste test I would assume that it came from Middle Ages..

Jan 14, 2005 Updated: Jan 15, 2005(22 oz bottle: $3.30 at Hi-Time Wine Cellars in Costa Mesa, CA) This is a moderately sweet and malty amber with a mild bitterness to balance out the beer, but this straightforward amber ale doesn’t do enough to rise above the legions of ambers to be above average, so average it is. The nose is pretty light, but is balanced between light malt and hops. Medium bodied, but doesn’t excite the palate. Standard amber color. Off-white head pours to an average size, fading to a thick rim around the glass. Lots of scattered lace decorate the glass. Average all the way.

Jan 12, 2005 One bottle from Beers of the World. Poured a thick white head that quickly disapapted. Medium smooth body with various fruit flavors mixed with hops. I’m not a fan of the Hops bite at the end, but overall it was ok.

Jan 10, 2005 Deep copper/ruby edged pour with medium off-white head. Aroma of malt, toffee, caramel. Tastes malty, with hopcit, fruit, and a finishing caramel cognac. A very good amber ale.
