Commercial Description:
A full-flavored amber ale made with roasted caramel malt. Richly colored and medium-bodied, Alleycat is an assertive blend of malts with a sprightly cascade of hops.

More hopped than most Ambers, but still a good beer overall. Bit weak in the aroma (mainly weak malt and some hops). The flavor however, is great. Good balance between malt and hops....sweet and fresh, with a hint of bitterness in the finish.

12oz bottle. Pours a thinner murky peach amber color with a thinner white fizzy bubbly head, not great looking. Aroma of some citrus hops, weirdly sweet and tangy, dry pine. Flavor is thinner, strange citrus sweetness, odd caramel, a bit astringent, bread, yeast. Body is thin with corse carbonation. Not a fan, I’m sure it’s a little better fresh but I doubt all that much.

Bottle. Pours orange with an off white head. Sweet malty aroma with herbal and floral hops. The flavor is sweet and malty, with toffee, caramel and iced tea.

12 oz. bottle. Pours a thin head of short duration, with some lacing, over a slightly hazy amber body.....nose of toffee, yeast, bread, hops.....taste of light toffee, then neutral malts, then mild lingering hop bitterness....mouth feel mediium, carbonation good. This is a nicely balanced, medium flavor and body amber ale.

Pours slightly hazy light amber color with an off-white head that hangs in there and then leaves a thin lace for the remainder of the pint. Nose is light hops with a more dominant caramel toasty/biscuity sweetness. Palate is on the malty side as well, again with caramel and toasty flavors, maybe some black tea also, and modest hop bitterness to round it out. Easy drinking.

Bottle 12fl.oz.
Unclear medium orange color with a small to average, frothy, fair lacing, mostly diminishing, off-white head. Aroma is moderate malty, caramel, moderate to light heavy hoppy, citrus - orange. Flavor is moderate to light light heavy sweet and moderate to light heavy shell bitter with a long duration. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. [20090321]
