December 2001, at the brewery. THIS IS THEIR FIRST BARLEYWINE? And they won a gold at the GABF? This is a wonderful brew, dark cherry in color, wonderfully smooth with and almost perfect malt/hop blend. You can almost chew this wonderful beer. I hope they keep it all year long.

A justifiable gold medal-winner. Classic barleywine profile: succulent, extravagant malt, complex, dense fruit flavors, and powerful, though masked, bitterness. Suberb!!

2001 vintage (at Toronado Barley Wine Festival 2003). Amber pour with caramel and butterscotch flavors. A little bit of coffee undertones.

Deep ruby red color with a moderate amount of white foam at the peak.Lots of licorice and alcohol blended with some bitter tart. The breath resembles the afterburner fumes coming off of an F-16.

Muddy orange color, not much head. Apple/pineapple/toffee aroma. Big malt flavour with a sharp, edgy, hoppy, bitter finish.

Tap @ brewery. Rich amber with an off-white head. Sweet apricot, apple, and caramel flavors. Sticky. Dark resinous fruit aroma. Re-Rate Tap @ Toronado Barley Wine Festival. A murky brown. Flavored with raisin, apples, alcohol, brandy, and malts.

draught: Transparent burnt and petrified amber with a creamy top..subdued hop nose..lots of creamy licorice with a solid hop backing..a nice heated dragon's breath exhale reminds you that its 11%.

On Tap @ Lucky Baldwin’s Barleywine fest 2005 Listed as 1999 on the program.

Dense reddish brown appearance. Fruity cherry malt aroma with fresh wild flower hoppiness. Sweet fruity malt palate, ginger balance cuts through. Lingering dried cherry and ginger aftertaste. Very interesting witha refreshing balance.
