Drank this one on tap with DragonStout. I usually love chocolate stouts or porters and this one didn’t disappoint at all. It poured dark black with a light tan head and smelled of chocolate aromas. It tasted like light chocolate with a hint of coffee. I agree with DragonStout, they need to bottle this, I’d drink it alot

Looks like a good dark porter with a stout tan head. Aroma is of dark chocolate. Taste is big on the chocolate, more than I had expected. Silky, creamy mouthfeel. Also more than I had expected. I dare say that this is pretty good.

Draft @ Redlight. Medium chocolate aroma with a background of roast and ash. Pretty dark but the room isn’t well lit to begin with. The bouncy techno music bounces ff the color making this beer seem overly serene in comparison. It is topped wit a thin khaki layer of foam. A touch colder than I want, I’m going to take my time with this. It is initially quite roasty and ashy with a long burnt chocolate finish. Some minutes later as the beer warmed a darker bitter chocolate arrived on scene. Meanwhile some light brown lacing set up camp on the side of the glass opposite from which I’m drinking. I can’t help but be surprised that this beer has gotten drier, rather than sweeter, as it has come up to temperature.

I was excited to see this beer, as I had never seen it or heard of it before. I came across this one on draft at Rossi’s Pizzeria in Orlando. Bill Rossi tells me that he obtained the only 2 slim kegs of this beer that came into the state. That’s pretty sweet!

Poured an opaque black body and a mountainous kaki head. The senses were quickly engulfed with heavy notes of highly roasted chocolate malt, a hint of smoke, some raisin in the middle, and a lasting bitter, woodsy, alpha hopped finish. There was also suggestion of a bitter bakers chocolate in the finish… nothing sweet. Full on reminded me of Rogue’s Chocolate Stout. Actually, because of this beers body and malt/hop profile, I would call it more a Stout than a Porter. Anyway…. A Great Treat! I love stumbling onto beers like this!

On draft a the Lost Coast Brewpub in Eureka, CA this poured a dark brown with fluffy tan head and lots of lacing. Good start. Nose is roasted malts with chocolate, coffee and some earthy hops. Mouthfeel very rich and smooth. Flavor of roasted malts and chocolate. Mild bitter finish. Good porter and best if allowed to warm up a bit.

On Tap at the Federal in Durham, NC. Very dark brown with a little light creeping through when held to the light. I don’t get the abundance of chocolate that I expected when I sniff this one but it’s definitely there. Strong roasted malt presence. Slightly more chocolate tasting than most porters but not over the top. Very solid robust porter.
