zach8270 (1407), Henrietta, New York, USA Apr 12, 2008 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Dark black pour with a thick tan head. Aroma is roasty and sweet with some chocolate and coffee aromas. Flavor is a bit watery at the start but very roasty soon after. Chocolate is present but not overpowering. Blends well with the coffee and cream flavors to produce a smooth and sweet flavor near the end. Aftertaste is bitter from the coffee flavors.

Flavors of chocolate, dark roast. Thin, somewhat one dimensional. marcus (989), Sacramento, California, USA Jul 25, 2008 On tap at the brewery. This dark brown ale poured with a nice creamy beige head. There is a rich chocolate flavor over a thin and carbonated body. Retorp (2158), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 18, 2008 Draft at Mr. Dunderbak’s in Tampa. The aroma is chocolate, roast malt and hints of cocoa and fruity esters, but with a light, unwelcome, tartness. The body is dark brown to black and holds a diminishing tan head. First sip is sickly sweet and tangy tart like overripe fruit. Mild roast malt, coffee and chocolate follow. Just tastes a little off.
