Tampa RB Gathering Beer #18....thanks to Brent for the growler of this stuff, and to SoLan for bringing it over with him....dark brown pour with a mocha colored head....aroma is very muted, some coffee and espresso notes, as well as charred malts and dark fruits, but everything is very hard to pull out....flavor is disappointing, just as light as the aroma, somewhat watery even....light bodied for a porter, decent carbonation....finish is gone in a flash, what was there wasn’t much worth talking about....a very disappointing effort

On tap. Very dark brown color with a thin light tan head. Very light coffee aroma coupled with roast. Somewhat light palate. The taste has a thin molasses sweetness that is stronger than any roastiness. A little bit of roast and syrupy coffee in the finish. Neither coffee nor any roast really stands out.

Draft at Redlight. Poured a charred, deeply hued brown. Light head rapidly vanished. Aroma is light coffee and chocolate, maybe even a touch of vanilla and coffee liquer. Flavor is a balancing act between sweet coffee, like the coffee you get in a Vietnamese restaurant, and the roasted malts. Palate is a touch thin.

Roasty, bitter chocolate, hints of coffee and vanilla, very nice aroma. Pours dark brown reddish on the sides with a thick tan head. Very smooth and sweet, roasted malts, bitter chocolate, with sweet vanilla and coffee flavors. The coffee flavor is good but not overpowering, hints of coffee grounds and sweet cafe au lait flavors. Very easy to drink as are all the Lost Coast beers.
