Pours a lightly hazed deep orange with a fluffy off white head that left some nice lacing. Nose was sweet with caramel malts and some faint dirty citrus aromas. Flavor was also quite sweet with a light hop bitterness on the finish. An ok brew. HopheadHans (755), Bay Area, California, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 26, 2009 tap at Lost Coast. Nice copper color with a medium sized head. Aroams are a bit subdued, a bit of citrus and pine. Flavors have some honey sweetness that offset the piney hops. There is some caramel and a very nice texture. A more subtle DIPA. Aroma is slightly peachy with a solid pine and citrus presence. Flavor has an unusual and unique peachy flavor with a lot of bitter pine resin. Beer has a moderate density and overall was a pretty good beer. TomDecapolis (3167), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jan 31, 2009 On tap at Capones. Pours a very cloudy hazel amber orange...heck it looks like thick apple cider. First pour off the keg though so I think half my glass was the yeast sitting on bottom if keg. Head was medium, creamy off white. Aroma was almost more of an aged barleywine, caramel, pine, dark fruits and very malty. Flavor of caramel, dark fruits, pine, lots of hop bitterness. hopdog (5561), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA

Not sure if this is the same as he had it as the ’Double Trouble Pilsner’, but I’ll use this as a place holder just in case. Poured a medium and cloudy golden color with a small sized white head. Aromas of some grassiness, floral, and toasty. Tastes of the same floral and toastiness with some caramel and citrus in the end. raphael (414), Portland, Oregon, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jan 4, 2009 Draft at belmont station. Soft hop/malt/aluminum aroma. Dark amber w/ steady, off-white head. odd feel int he mouth, unsettled, as is the flavor--caramel, parmesan, distant hops, alcohol. harsh hop finish. Disappointing aceofhearts (4999), Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Dec 29, 2008 Draft @ Belmont Station. Dark tawny brown colored body with a soft and thick tan head. Sweet and chewy sugared cherry nose with heavy notes of sweet caramel malt and maraschino cherries. Rich, tangy, peppery black cherry hops greet the tongue, and the light toast and sweet caramel in the back combined with a well-rounded fullness and frothyness is quite enjoyable. More like those imperial red ales than a double IPA.
