A smooth, full-bodied nut brown ale, lightly hopped with a hint of roasted and crystal malts. This ale is dark in color without the heavy taste of porter or stout.

Pretty good Brown Ale. Pours a dark brown color with a small tan head that diminished quickly. Sweet, sugary notes with a bit of malts, caramel and maybe even some honey. Slightly sour aftertaste. Solid but not great.

12 ounce bottle at Old Chicago. Pours a clean dark brown with a fair tan head. Aroma of chocolate and nuts. Same with the flavor plus a bit of chocolate. Medium body. Above average carbonation. Clean finish. Decent beer.

Pours a dark brownish red with a tan head. Decent malt aroma. Sweet malt upfront with a mildly bitter, brief finish. Fairly thin in flavor and body to me, though.

Pretty good Brown, really. I find a lot of Brown’s to be boring and bland, but this is one of the better one’s I’ve tried. Fairly strong for a brown, with notes of coffee and almonds. A nice smooth texture, and solid brown color. Smooth tasting as well. Not complex, but what *I* would look for ina brown.

Pours a brown color with tan head. Malty nutty, toasty, and earthy bitter hops. Flavor malty, nutty, toasty, some cocoa, and an earthy bitter finish.

Pours a clear burgundy with a finger of creamy, beige head. The aroma is a nutty, roasted malt with an acrid, astringent note coming forward; not great. Medium-bodied and slick with soft carbonation and a clean, lightly roasted finish. The flavor is a slight improvement over the nose: nutty, roasted malt with a mildly astringent finish. This is a decent brown, but it’s not one I’d buy again.

Pours a clear brown with a nice off white head. Has a malty aroma with a slight roasted presence. Flavor is light, roasted and mildly nutty. Easy to drink and not bad overall.
