Good nutty flavoring and a good resinating aftertaste that stayed with me for a while. Good job. Oscbert (550), Sacramento, California, USA

| 4.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 20/20 | Oct 26, 2007 I fell in love with this early in 2007. It’s very English in style, but much stronger in body and flavour than the likes of Newcastle. It’s a full bodied, richly falvoured brown ale, kind of between something like Newcastle and an English strong or old ale. It is almost black, red brown, with a thick tan head that dissipates slowly bt faster than, say, Moose Drool, and has only weak lacing. The aroma is rich caramel, yeasty bread. The taste is rich, toasty malt, sweet, smooth and very full-bodied. It has barely even a hint of bitterness, & could in fact probably use just a bit more of a bite. However, it is a full-bodied, very tasty, and smooth ale. Beerlando (2352), Orlando, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 22, 2007 Clear, dark reddish-brown body. Small, foamy, cream colored head. Minimal spotty lacing. Aromas of maple, brown sugar, coffee with cream, and hazelnuts comprise the nose. Smells sweet, but slightly roasty. The flavor is like a smoothly blended maple-nut cream shake. Its sweet and satisfying, with ample roast from the coffee and the nuts to add some balance. Medium bodied and about as easy to drink as a beer can possibly be. Silky, slightly sticky mouthfeel, with a short, moderately dry, roasty finish. Sure it lacks depth and complexity, but this is a versatile, fun little year-round beer that would be equally satisfying in the summer and winter alike. Typical of Lost Coast’s offerings. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 16, 2007 Bottle from BevMo. Very dark with glints of red. No head at all. Nose is roasted nuts...that’s about it. Taste is still roasted nuts with some weak coffee mixed in. Not too bad, not great either. obguthr (1065), Poquoson, Virginia, USA
| 1.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 1/10 | 2/5 | 3/10 | 2/5 | 3/20 | Oct 12, 2007 No detectable aroma. Black pour, no head. Tastes of rye, but is mainly flavorless with a slight hint of charcoal on the palate. I probably shouldn’t have had this right after an imp stout. It does get a little better when warm. pumpmaster (483), Pembroke Pines, Florida, USA
